Singer, recording artist and popular radio personality Joey English stars as Norma Desmond in The Palm Canyon Theatre's "Sunset Boulevard" March 8-24, as part of the PCT's 16th season. The production is directed by Judith Chapman, star of television's "The Young And The Restless". I sat down with Ms. English in her beautiful Palm Springs home to chat about her career, the upcoming production and "all things Joey". Here are a few highlights from that conversation:

Torrington's Warner Theatre's SUNSET BOULEVARD is big, it's the star that got small.

Individual tickets for Minneapolis Musical Theatre's (MMT) Reefer Madness and Sunset Boulevard go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 5. These productions, featured on MMT's 2013 Season and directed by their artistic director Steven Meerdink, are being presented as part of a new partnership between MMT and Hennepin Theatre Trust at the New Century Theatre, 615 Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. Reefer Madness is a raucous musical comedy about the perils of marijuana which runs February 1-24, 2013. Sunset Boulevard is the Broadway hit based on the Oscar-winning movie about faded glory and thwarted ambition which runs May 31-June 23. The long-running sketch comedy series THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW is being released by Time Life on DVD today, September 25, 2012. The half hour comedy was composed of sketches and parodies starring Carol Burnett, Vicky Lawrence, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman among others.

CAPA has moved its box office operations into the space previously occupied by the Ohio Theatre gift shop (39 E. State St.). Dedicated to Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach in 2010, the new CAPA Ticket Center is located just a few feet from its previous location (from the east side of the Ohio Theatre marquee to the west side). The space was redesigned to enhance customer service and provide patrons with a user-friendly and efficient ticket-buying experience.

In 1950, Billy Wilder wrote and directed what is now regarded as one of the finest movies ever made - Sunset Boulevard, starring silent screen legend Gloria Swanson as silent screen legend Norma Desmond.
