HOUSE OF BLAKEWELL'S HOUSE PARTY Comes to Brighton Fringe 2014, Now thru June 1

Following sell-out shows at VAULT Festival in London, Harry Blake and Alice Keedwell are back with HOUSE OF BLAKEWELL'S HOUSE PARTY. The amazing cabaret duo go 'urban' in this exciting all-singing, all-dancing musical revue, filled with their signature selection of toe-tapping, original showstoppers. The show will run at the Marlborough Theatre at Brighton Fringe, today, 2nd, 3rd and 31st May and 1st June 2014, 9pm.

OperaDelaware Presents THE THREE LITTLE PIGS, 5/31

On May 31st, OperaDelaware will offer two performances of its new production of The Three Little Pigs, a one-act opera featuring the music of Mozart to retell the tale that is familiar to all children.

Oakland University to Present L'INCORONAZIONE DI POPPEA, 5/8 & 10

Add music and drama together and the result is opera, a truly thrilling live arts experience. Oakland University's music program will put on a fully staged production of "L'incoronazione di Poppea" by Claudio Monteverdi, with a libretto by Giovanni Francesco Busenello. The opera was first performed in Venice in 1643 during the Carnival season. It tells the story of Poppea, mistress of the Roman emperor Nero, and her rise to empress. This early work, which was rediscovered in the late 19th century after being lost for more than 200 years, will be sung in Italian with English supertitles.

For the longest time, I was under the impression that Toronto audiences were not fans of drama - for we just don't seem to get many of them in our biggest theatres during most theatre seasons. From now until June 1st, Toronto audiences have the opportunity to experience drama at it's finest - The Last Confession starring veteran stage and screen actor David Suchet is a brilliant work of art that can only be described as utterly brilliant.

2014 Castleton Festival Set to Take Place in Castleton Farms, 6/28 - 7/20

RCO Presents 'Happy Birthday Bill' Concert at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Gardens Today

Across the globe the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth will be commemorated in many ways. In Paris a week-long conference will occur. In London anew indoor Jacobean theatre within the complex of Shakespeare's Globe opens. And here in New York the Richmond County Orchestra (RCO) marks its 15th season by celebrating the anniversary with a Happy Birthday Bill performance today, April 26 at The Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.

Enrico Brignano to Star in RUGANTINO at New York City Center, 6/12-14

Straight from engagements in Rome, Milan and Florence, MF Production presents Enrico Brignano in Rugantino, in celebration of 50th Anniversary of the show's Broadway debut, from June 12, 13 and 14, 2014 at New York City Center, 131 West 55th Street, NYC. Performances are on Thursday and Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm. Rugantino will be performed in Italian with English subtitles.

SFCM, Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Sonoma State's Green Music Center Launch THE NATIONAL BRASS ENSEMBLE PROJECT

San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Sonoma State University's Green Music Center today announced The National Brass Ensemble Project, a partnership formed to present a newly created group, the National Brass Ensemble, in a week-long residency taking place June 9 - 14, 2014 in Rohnert Park and San Rafael, California. The Ensemble, a singular collection of musicians from across the United States, features 24 leading brass players and two percussionists from the Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland, Detroit Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia and San Francisco Symphony orchestras.

Opera Colorado Announces Upcoming Productions - MADAMA BUTTERFLY, THE MAGIC FLUTE, and More

Opera Colorado announced today that it will present Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly(November 2014), W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute (May 2015), Giuseppe Verdi's Aida (November 2015), and the world premiere of Lori Laitman's The Scarlet Letter (May 2016) starring Elizabeth Futral as Hester Prynne. A vital presence in Denver's cultural ecology, Opera Colorado is the Rocky Mountain region's preeminent grand opera company. The Opera's programming includes mainstage productions, artist development initiatives, and education and community engagement programming.

Sarasota Opera Announces Expansion of 'HD at the Opera House' Series

Sarasota Opera is pleased to announce the expansion of its new broadcast and film series called 'HD at the Opera House'. This new series is allowing Sarasota Opera to expand its programming from the fall and winter season to year-around. In addition to opera, the series will include ballet and theater from some of the world's most famous venues. All showings will occur in the William E. Schmidt Opera Theatre at the Sarasota Opera House.

Richard Dresser's BELOW THE BELT to Open 5/8 at Westbeth Arts Center
