The holiday production of ELF The Musical plays the Theater at Madison Square Garden as part of the 2015 national tour for a limited three week engagement from tonight, December 9, through December 27, 2015.
Continuing a tradition inaugurated in 2006, the Met offers a holiday presentation sung in English with special discount pricing for families this December and January. This year's production, Rossini's madcap comedy The Barber of Seville, opens December 16 and stars Isabel Leonard and Ginger Costa-Jackson as Rosina; David Portillo and Taylor Stayton as Count Almaviva; Elliot Madore and David Pershall as Figaro; Valeriano Lanchas as Dr. Bartolo; and Robert Pomakov as Don Basilio. Antony Walker conducts all nine performances of the opera, which runs through January 2.

During the second half of the program, soprano Lauren Flanigan will sing Luciano Berio's 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man' from Epifanie with Daniel Gortler. This will be Ms. Flanigan's first public New York City performance since 2010 when she was diagnosed with sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL). To conclude, Mr. Gortler, who has delighted audiences and critics with his concerts around the world and received praise for his technical mastery and musical ingenuity, will perform Franz Schubert's Three Piano Pieces for solo piano.
