You have probably heard of the Broadway Hit Musical Wicked many times before, but hearing about it is nothing like seeing it! Wicked is by far one of the best shows I have ever seen, it could be why I have seen it five or six times.
While some may think this could be a boring musical for children, trust me when I say that it is far from that. While this is a show that children will enjoy, Wicked delves much deeper into human nature than most "children's" shows. Wicked gives a hard look at how the choices we make define our lives, and how difficult it can be to be different and to stand for what you believe in.
Hunton's credits include the Broadway company of Spring Awakening (Ilse) as well as the Off-Broadway company of RENT (Maureen). She was last on tour with the 1st National Tour of Next to Normal (Natalie) and most recently played Ryan in the world premiere of Witness Uganda at the American Repertory Theater.
Willemijn Verkaik and Charlotte Wakefield will head a stellar line-up of vocalists at a concert of songs by acclaimed transatlantic songwriting duo Anderson and Petty at the St James Theatre Studio this Sunday, March 16, as part of the venue's season of 'Cabaret Nights'.
I've seen Wicked multiple times (a few more times and I will be in double digits) and every single time, I enjoy myself. That proves how powerful this musical has become and how its themes will always be relevant. But what can make or break any performance, no matter how many times you see it, are the performers. If they are having a bad day or aren't as strong as they are suppose to be, the audience can leave disappointed. In the case of this tour of Wicked Alison Luff, who plays Elphaba, made this show.

You are Home: The Songs of Anderson & Petty is Barry Anderson and Mark Petty's debut songbook album and like their transatlantic working relationship, the recording also showcases talent from both sides of the pond. A range of genres are performed meaning there is something for everyone. The recording is a preview of their work that will be performed at the St James Studio in London in March, prior to a concert in New York in August. As well as writing the musical numbers, Anderson & Petty also co-produced the album alongside Dennis Michael Keefe from record label, Great White Wax.
WICKED, now playing at the Providence Performing Arts Center, revisits the yellow brick road from Munchkinland to the Emerald City and presents a heart-touching, socially- and politically-minded new vision of Oz's most familiar stories and characters along the way.
