The Left Bank Writers Retreat, a small-group summer writing workshop held each June in Paris, France, will take place June 15 -20, 2014 and is now accepting applications for this summer's retreat. The cost of the six-day Left Bank Writers Retreat in Paris is $1,999 and includes morning writing sessions with coaching and one-on-one time with the instructor for a maximum of eight writers, as well as lunch each day, admission to museums and area sights related to Paris's famous literary history, an excursion to Montmartre, a picnic on the banks of the Seine and a tour visiting haunts of famous writers like Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, including many of the sites featured in the Woody Allen movie 'Midnight in Paris.'

The Flea Theater has announced the World Premiere of Mallery Avidon's MARY-KATE OLSEN IS IN LOVE. This satire about love and growing-up and "being real" will be directed by Flea Resident Director Kristen Seemel and feature members of The Bats. Previews begin November 1 with opening slated for November 18. Says Producing Director Carol Ostrow, "this witty and wise play by on-the-rise writer Mallery Avidon tackles the notion of love, sex and marriage and the challenges of 20-somethings who think they know how to have it all."

Shannon Sindelar, producing artistic director of Brooklyn's acclaimed Brave New World Repertory Theatre (BNW),today announced the launch of New Works, a new initiative featuring staged readings of new plays by emerging Brooklyn playwrights. The newly named Richard and Debbie Cohn Trustus Side Door Theatre is opening its season with last season's smash hit 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche. This unique show that was born from sketch comedy in Chicago comes back to Columbia with the original all-star Trustus cast. The show opens Friday October 11th, at 8:00pm in the Richard and Debbie Cohn Trustus Side Door Theatre, and runs through Saturday October 26th, 2013. Since the show sold out very quickly in January, patrons are encouraged to make reservations early.

A playful, exuberant and musical adaptation of Gertrude Stein's existential, modernist children's book The World Is Round will be performed this summer at The Mill: Arts, Letters, and Numbers in Averill Park, New York (east of Albany). THE WORLD IS ROUND IS ROUND IS ROUND is a music-theater piece chronicling the adventures of a girl named Rose in her quest to get 'there'-to the top of a mountain. It is adapted and directed by Karin Coonrod with music by Gina Leishman, who Time Out New York called 'one of New York's most versatile composers.' The work will premiere in August 2013 at The Mill before traveling to New York and other cities.

Dressed all in white, singing like angels and dancing like the devil, the 13 performers of "Gertrude Stein's Saints" are young, energetic, talented, and, let's face it, hot enough to be cast in Glee. What's most remarkable about this ensemble, all of them drama students at Carnegie Mellon University, is that, instead of covering songs by Journey or Rihanna, they have composed original music and turned two inaccessible avant-garde operas into a rousing entertainment.

On Wednesday, Why You Beasting? became the first show of the 2013 festival to sell out its entire run. Several productions have already sold out multiple individual performances including: Rubble, Big Dummy, Cowboy's Don't Sing, Off The Desk, Bellini and the Sultan, and Snakes I Have Known.
