Denver, CO

The Left Bank Writers Retreat, a small-group summer writing workshop held each June in Paris, France, will take place June 15 -20, 2014 and is now accepting applications for this summer's retreat. The cost of the six-day Left Bank Writers Retreat in Paris is $1,999 and includes morning writing sessions with coaching and one-on-one time with the instructor for a maximum of eight writers, as well as lunch each day, admission to museums and area sights related to Paris's famous literary history, an excursion to Montmartre, a picnic on the banks of the Seine and a tour visiting haunts of famous writers like Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, including many of the sites featured in the Woody Allen movie "Midnight in Paris."

"We have received rave reviews from writers attending the retreat," says Left Bank Writers Retreat founder Darla Worden. "What's not to love? We're in Paris, writing, eating and drinking wine-we even have our own sommelier to choose the right wines for us."

The retreat welcomes fiction and memoir writers, poets and playwrights. Writers wishing to join the retreat will find an application at http://www.leftbankwriters.com. "Although there are no strict qualifications, because it's a small group in a Parisian salon-style setting, each year I try to select a group that will work well together," says Worden. "Also I like to see what writers are hoping to accomplish while they are in Paris to make sure we are the right writing workshop for their expectations."

The Left Bank Writers Retreat facilitator and host Darla Worden is a writer and public relations professional who lives in Jackson, Wyo., Denver, Colo., and Paris, France. Worden, recently interviewed in "Insider Perks" about her love of travel, has written widely for magazines and authored several books. A bona fide Francophile who has spent time living and working in Paris, she teaches a writing course, "A Left Bank Literary Excursion," in the Enrichment Program of the University of Denver, writes the popular blog Frenchophile and is currently working on a book about Hemingway's Paris.

"I want to offer this experience to other writers who would like to write in the morning and see the sights of Paris in the afternoon - using their Parisian experiences as writing prompts in their work," Worden says. "We will explore Paris's Left Bank where iconic writers like Hemingway, Joyce, and Fitzgerald lived and worked, as well as the great museums, parks and restaurants that inspired them."

Company Information: Now in its sixth year, the Left Bank Writers Retreat offers a small-group Parisian salon-style writing workshop that takes place on the historic Île Saint-Louis in the heart of Paris, France. Writers arrange their own lodging and transportation to Paris. For additional information on the 2014 Left Bank Writers Retreat, scheduled for June 15 - 20, visit http://www.leftbankwriters.com.
