The Hollywood Reporter writes that Geoffrey Rush has signed on to join Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Gerard Butler in the upcoming fantasy feature GODS OF EGYPT, directed by Alex Proyas for Summit. Proyas is writing the script with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazamat.

The free ticketed concert will take place on the Great Lawn of New York's iconic Central Park, with performances by Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon, Alicia Keys, and John Mayer on September 28, 2013.

Comedian and filmmaker Jeff Garlin recerntly chatted with USA today about his upcoming movie, Dealin' With Idiots. On how he decided to star in te film, he revealed: ' When I rewrite is when I start figuring out who I want; when I'm initially writing it, I generally don't think of anybody. And I think I pretty much got everybody that I wanted. I mean, I shot it in 12 days, so it's not a big time commitment. Yes, you're not making a lot of money, but it's not a time commitment.'

Deadlines to submit entries to the 2013 Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting competition are Wednesday, April 10 (regular deadline) and Wednesday, May 1 (final deadline). As many as five $35,000 fellowships will be awarded in November.
