Center Theatre Group recently announced that Justin Bartha would be joining the cast of Neil Simon's 'The Sunshine Boys' at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre replacing the previously announced David Krumholtz who needed to leave the production for personal reasons.
Montclair State University and the renowned Ayala Museum (Manila), in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General of New York, will host an exhibition of contemporary Philippine art, inspired by the South East Asian archipelago's long history of socio-economic/political struggles and its search for a national identity. Titled “Triumph of Philippine Art,” the unique retrospective is the first exhibit to ever specifically use artwork to tell the nation's political story: beginning with the oppression of the Martial Law period (1972-1986), leading up to the 1986 non-violent “revolution that surprised the world” and ultimately resulting in the vibrant and robust art of a free society at the turn of the 21st century. The exhibit will be displayed at Montclair State University's George Segal Gallery from September 21 through December 15, 2013.

Hoberman. The series, which will be accompanied by a new monograph written by Hoberman, includes nineteen films, and will be presented by Museum of the Moving Image from August 10 through September 1. This Thursday, just in time for Pride Week, NYC Parks' Citywide Monuments Conservation Program will care for Gay Liberation, a bronze sculptural group depicting two women seated together and two men standing. Created by George Segal in 1980, it is placed across from the Stonewall Inn, where in 1969 a series of riots by members of the gay community took place, ushering in the modern Gay Rights Movement in the United States.
