THE NAKED GENIUS picks up where GYPSY leaves off... Mint Theater Company, 'that truffle hound of half-buried treasures from the past' (Village Voice), has unearthed the original, unadulterated script of THE NAKED GENIUS written by Gypsy Rose Lee, and will bring it to life for one fun-filled performance only on Monday, June 14th at Caroline's on Broadway (1626 Broadway between 49th & 50th Streets).

Mint Theater Company today announced that Jill Abramovitz, Mary Ellen Ashley, Dale Carmen, Matthieu Cornillon, Margaret Daly, Linda Gabler, Jennifer Harmon, Jordan Lage (Speed the Plow), Kate Levy, Dani Marcus, Chris Mixon, Cass Morgan (Memphis), Saxon Palmer, Kraig Swartz, Sheila Stasack, Peter Van Wagner, and Virginia Wing, will join Kristen Johnston (last seen in the Mint production of So Help Me God!, for which she received a Drama Desk nomination) in THE NAKED GENIUS written by Gypsy Rose Lee, on Monday, June 14th at Carolines on Broadway (1626 Broadway between 49th & 50th Streets).

Maria Friedman to to Direct MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG Revival at Menier Chocolate Factory?

According to whatsonstage.com, British actress Maria Friedman will direct a revival of Sondheim's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG at The Menier Chocolate Factory, in celebration of Sondheim's 80th birthday. Dates for the production are unknown at this time. Friedman is n stranger to the piece. She has not only appeared in the production, but also recently directed a student production at the Central School of Speech and Drama. The Menier Chocolate Factory has previously hosted other Sondheim revivals such as SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and SWEENEY TODD.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Polly Stenham's THAT FACE will be directed by Sarah Benson (Blasted, Artistic Director of Soho Rep) and will feature three-time Obie winner Elizabeth Marvel (Top Girls, 50 Words). 'THE GOOD NEGRO' Set for Goodman Theatre's 2009-10 Season

Artistic Director Robert Falls announced today the final production of Goodman Theatre's 2009/2010 season-The Good Negro, Tracey Scott Wilson's 'thunderous...stunning' (Variety) new play, comes to Chicago fresh from its off-Broadway run at The Public Theater. Resident Director Chuck Smith, who previously collaborated with Wilson on the Goodman's 2004/2005 Chicago-premiere production of The Story, will direct The Good Negro in the Albert Theatre in Spring 2010.
