CLR (National Council of La Raza)-the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization-today announced that this year's revamped 2009 ALMA Awards® will showcase more Latino talent in more arenas than ever before. NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguía and Executive Producer Eva Longoria Parker made the announcement at a news conference at Beso Restaurant, Longoria Parker's Latin-themed restaurant in Hollywood. Among the major changes to this acclaimed show is the addition of a co-host, the actor, comedian, and talk show host George Lopez.

Iconic funny man Bill Cosby, who has been making audiences laugh for decades with his keen insight into everyday existence, will be honored by a variety of former co-stars and luminaries, including Len Chandler, James De Priest, Danny Glover, Dick Gregory Jimmy Heath, George Lopez, Wynton Marsalis, Rita Moreno, Willie Nelson, Phylicia Rashad, Carl Reiner, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Sinbad, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner in a salute at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 8pm as Cosby receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Star Wars: In Concert, a unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams' epic Star Wars scores, begins its worldwide arena tour on October 1 and 2, 2009 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and October 7 and 8 at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, California.

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) and Outback Concerts presents George Lopez on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Paramount Theatre. George Lopez is one of the premier comedic talents in the entertainment industry today. He is the co-creator, writer, producer and star of the ABC network and Warner Bros. Television produced sitcom, 'George Lopez.' The show is executive produced by Bruce Helford ('The Drew Carey Show,' 'Roseanne') and movie star Sandra Bullock. The show is in its fifth season, Wednesdays at 8:00pm.
