Carlos Miguel Prieto, Musical America's 2019 Conductor of the Year, will return to the United Kingdom for the second time this season to conduct the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain's (NYOGB) spring concert tour, in April 2019. Prieto will lead three performances - in London, Liverpool, and Birmingham - of a program dedicated to works by Mexican and American composers. These performances mark Prieto's first return appearance with the NYOGB, following his debut with the Orchestra in April 2017.

Composer Christopher James's upcoming album Grace from Persistence, his third as a solo artist, represents a synthesis of musical genres from jazz and pop to classical and film music, informed not only by his early experiences scoring for film and television, but also by his many years working with leading artists and on major soundtracks as an executive and producer for Universal Music Group. In the early 1930's, The Lambs created 2-reel comedy short films with Columbia Pictures. These shorts were created as a means to raise fund for the Club during the Great Depression. Most of these films have never been seen in almost a century. The films offer a rare historical look at The Lambs, its famous members and activities. The presentation included: Shave it with Music (1932), The Curse of the Broken Heart (1933), Poor Fish (1933) and Hear'em and Weep (1931).
In 10th Grade, I was in the chorus of a production of Oklahoma! in the auditorium of my synagogue and it was the best theatrical experience I've ever had. San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced today that its all time box office record has been broken by its current production of Hershey Felder, Beethoven. The award-winning piano virtuoso had previously shattered box office records at San Diego REP with his 2017 production of Our Great Tchaikovsky. Felder has consistently broken records throughout his career and now Hershey Felder, Beethoven is the highest overall grossing show in San Diego REP history.
