Sing for Hope, a non-profit organization that mobilizes a corps of more than 500 professional artists in volunteer service programs that benefit communities in need, joined forces with Yale University to present an evening of song performed by distinguished Yale alumni.

Goodspeed Musicals, the only two time Tony Award winning theatre in the country, is proud to announce that Lucky Guy, a new musical comedy, will be the spring production at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Connecticut. This heartfelt musical comedy will play May 14 through June 14. Lucky Guy is sponsored by Essex Savings Bank.

Broadway Musicals of 1944, was presented by The Town Hall (Executive and Artistic Director Lawrence Zucker), on Monday, May 11th. Now in its ninth season, the critically acclaimed Broadway By The Year® series is known for great signing and spectacular Broadway dancing. The series is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Infamous Commonwealth Theatre announces that effective June 1, 2009, founding member Genevieve Thompson is stepping down as Artistic Director of ICT. Her successor in the role will be Chris Maher, current Artistic Director of Open Eye Productions.

On April 30th, Times Square Hard Rock Cafe welcomed 'Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway' with the purpose to raise money for World Hunger. The Cast of performers included Rob Evan (Jekyll and Hyde), Rita Harvey (Phantom of the Opera), Steve Blanchard (Beauty and the Beast), Carter Calvert (Ain't Nothin' But the Blues), Danny Zolli (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening) and many more!

On Wednesday, April 29, at the historic Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel, Tony Award-winner Roger Rees hosted Sing Happy!, The Collegiate Chorale's spring benefit celebrating 'The Great White Way'. The evening featured special musical guest and Tony Award-winning actress Victoria Clark, who recently starred in the The Chorale's highly praised concert revival of Kurt Weill & Ira Gershwin's Firebrand of Florence on March 12.

To help raise money for The Actors Fund, the club will feature such Broadway luminaries as James Barbour, Andrea Burns, the cast of [title of show], Julia Murney and Norm Lewis. All admission proceeds will go directly to the assistance of professionals in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.

PROJECT SHAW, now in its third of its four year series, continues tackling every play George Bernard Shaw ever wrote. The group recently gave the 37th presentation. The rarely performed comedies by George Bernard Shaw were presented on Monday, APRIL 20th at 7pm at the Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South. David Staller was producer and director.

John C. Breckenridge, President and CEO of Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS), announced today the nominations for TUTS' seventh annual Tommy Tune Awards which will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Developed by TUTS, the Tommy Tune Awards honor musical theatre excellence at the high school level. After reviewing and evaluating the 45 participating Houston-area high school productions during the 2008-2009 school year, a team of 29 Houston-based theatre professionals made 152 nominations in 15 categories.

The Northwestern University Dance Program students will present ?Forward Shift,? a concert that celebrates the completion of the Class of 2009?s dance studies. Performances of the annual spring dance concert will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21; 8 p.m. Friday, May 22; 8 p.m. Saturday, May 23; and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, in the Ballroom of the Marjorie Ward Marshall Dance Center, 10 Arts Circle Drive, on the University?s Evanston campus. The concert is open to the public.

The Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University will continue its 2008-09 season in May with the two remaining Mainstage productions: an adaptation of a Pierre Corneille classic, and a Holocaust drama by Israeli playwright and director Joshua Sobol. It also will present a Wallis Works-In-Progress adaptation of a story by Zimbabwean doctor and celebrated writer J. Nozipo Maraire.
