Last night, May 2, The Town Hall, led by Marvin Leffler and Lawrence Zucker celebrated its 90th Anniversary with 'Town Hall at 90,' a benefit concert paying tribute to the rich cultural history of the institution from 1921 to the present day. The concert starred Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway, Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk, Theatre world and Emmy Award winner Tovah Feldshuh, legendary Jazz guitarist and banjoist Bucky Pizzarelli and Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner. Dancers/choreographers Jeffry Denman ('White Christmas,' 'Yank!') and Noah Racey ('Curtains') danced together. Scott Siegel, creator/writer and host of The Town Hall's acclaimed Broadway By The Year series, has written and will host the evening. New York City Opera's General Manager and Artistic Director George Steel will moderate an in-depth roundtable discussion on what defines the opera and musical theater genres at the Gershwin Theatre on the set of Stephen Schwartz's acclaimed Broadway production WICKED. Today, 13 April 2011, twelve year old Ryan Collinson from Southport, becomes the twenty-sixth boy to play the title role in the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical. The internationally award-winning show, which opened a the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2005, has been seen by over 6 million people worldwide, including 3 million in the West End. Ryan becomes the 56th boy to play Billy Elliot worldwide since Jamie Bell in the award-winning film.

According to Whatsonstage.com, Cameron Mackintosh's next big project might be a UK tour of his recent West End revival of OLIVER! The show closed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in January. Casting notices indictate that the tour will visit Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton, Edinburgh, Norwich, Plymouth, Newcastle, Leeds, Dublin and Bristol. An official anouncement is expected to be made by next week.

On April 11, 2011, Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre will honor esteemed stage and screen actress Bernadette Peters with the company's second Stephen Sondheim Award. The award, established in 2009 in honor of America's most influential contemporary musical theater writer and composer, will be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The 2011 Sondheim Award Gala is chaired by Ted and Mary Jo Shen; Honorary Hosts include Stephen Sondheim, Helen Henderson, His Excellency Gary Doer and Ms. Ginny Devine, The Honorable James Moran, His Excellency Giulio Terzi and Ms. Antonella Cinque, and The Honorable Jim Webb and Mrs. Webb. The Sondheim Award Gala will help to benefit Signature Theatre's numerous artistic, education, and community programs. Last year's recipient was stage, screen, and television icon Angela Lansbury.

On Saturday April 9, 2011 Orla Fallon performed on Long Island at The Boulton Center (http://www.boultoncenter.org/) in Bay Shore, NY for a concert. The audience included members of WLIW TV 21 (http://www.wliw.org) who had donated to the station during the March pledge drive.

New Hampshire Theatre Project's Junior Youth Repertory Company, under the direction of Meghann Beauchamp, will present Forest Secrets: A Fairy Houses Mystery, April 2-10 at West End Studio Theatre in Portsmouth.
