Just last night, Paper Mill Playhouse opened the world-premiere musical Ever After, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It), featuring a book and lyrics by Marcy Heislerand music by Zina Goldrich.  Ever After stars two-time Tony Award-winner Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens, 42nd Street) as Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent, Tony Award nominee Tony Sheldon (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Leonardo da Vinci, Emmy Award winner Charles Shaughnessy (Urinetown, 'The Nanny') as King Francis, James Synder (If/Then) as Prince Henry and Drama Desk Award nominee Margo Seibert (Rocky) as Danielle de Barbarac. STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was held just yesterday in Shubert Alley, hosted by Darren Criss who is currently playing Hedwig in the 2014 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a 12-piece live orchestra, including many of this year's 2015 Tony Award - nominated plays and musicals! Directed by Tony nominee LEIGH SILVERMAN, the production began previews on April 28, 2015 and officially opened last night, May 19, 2015 at Second Stage Theatre, 305 West 43rd Street. Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW just presented the 1912 one-act comedy OVERRULED, last night at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.). Overruled starred Robert Cuccioli (Mr. Lunn), Heidi Armbruster(Mrs. Lunn), Alison Cimmet (Mrs. Juno), Dan Butler (Mr. Juno), in which two couples are determined to find romance...but not with each other. GTG's Founding Artistic Director David Staller directs.

Annie Baker's 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, The Flick, returns to Off-Broadway this month, directed once again by Sam Gold and featuring Alex Hanna, Louisa Krause, Matthew Maher, and Aaron Clifton Moten, reprising their acclaimed performances. Previews began on May 5 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street, corner of Seventh Avenue), and the show will play a 16-week limited engagement through Sunday, August 30. Contra Costa Civic Theatre Concludes 55th Anniversary Season with THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) ends its 55th season with one of the world's most beloved musicals, The Sound of Music, directed by CCCT Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn with music direction by Kevin Roland and choreography by Rick Wallace, from June 12 through July 19. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm at the theatre.
