Firehouse Theater presents 'Crimes of the Heart' April 1 - 29 at the John Hand Theater/Colorado Free University, 7653 East First Place in Lowry. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m. (no performance Easter Sunday April 16).

New Hampshire Theatre Project presents the 2017 Intelligent Theatre Festival, the fifth annual festival of playreadings and discussion.  This year's theme is Matters of Importance as each script focuses on social, political and cultural issues that prompt difficult conversations both personally and in community.

BROADWAY BY THE YEAR, the musical revue series created, written, directed, and hosted by Scott Siegel and which pays tribute to a different era of Broadway composers each program, is a stroke of brilliance. Occurring once a month, each evening is dedicated specifically to one decade of American musical theater, and features some of the most talented stars currently working in American musical theater. The series' most recent installment (and the first of 2017) on February 27 at its usual home, The Town Hall, paid tribute to the 1920s. The decade, which inducted into the theatrical cannon the likes of George and Ira Gershwin and Richard Rodgers, brims with melodically-rich scores including songs of yearning and joviality. The tunes selected for the evening certainly felt of their era; however, put into the hands of such skilled performers as Carolee Carmello, Beth Malone, and Robert Cuccioli (to name a few), they could be heard with fresh and non-cynical ears.

GLEE alum Jane Lynch has joined the cast of NBC's multicamera comedy pilot RELATIVELY HAPPY.

The cast for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, the third production in the partnership between The GradeLinnit Company and English National Opera (ENO), comprises Katherine Jenkins (Julie Jordan), Alfie Boe (Billy Bigelow), Nicholas Lyndhurst (Star Keeper), Derek Hagen (Jigger Craigin), Alex Young (Carrie Pipperidge), Brenda Edwards (Nettie Fowler), Gavin Spokes (Enoch Snow), Susan Kyd (Mrs Mullin), Amy Everett (Louise), Davide Fienauri (Carnival Boy) and Martyn Ellis (Mr Bascombe).

JOHN, a new play by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Annie Baker, is now receiving a Southwest Premiere production at Hyde Park Theatre, under the direction of Ken Webster. The production is so exceptional on so many multiple levels that I am likely to wear out my thesaurus. This is not the first play by Baker that Hyde Park Theatre has produced. Earlier this season, they presented The Flick, and they have, in the past, produced Circle Mirror Transformation, The Aliens and Body Awareness. Webster clearly has an affinity for her work and Austin is all the richer for it.

Retter Entertainment is pleased to announce their production of 13 The Musical. Music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown and a book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn. Following a move from New York City to small-town Indiana, young Evan Goldman grapples with his parents' divorce, prepares for his impending Bar Mitzvah, and navigates the complicated social circles of a new school.

The New York Pops brands itself as "a different kind of orchestra," and the proof is in the programming. The orchestra, the largest independent orchestra in the United States, will begin the second half of their season on Friday, March 10, 2017, with a LIFE IS A CABARET: KANDER & EBB, celebrating the music of the legendary duo, and continuing a season (and organization mission) dedicated to featuring a wide variety of performers, composers, and genres.

New Hampshire Theatre Project announces an exciting array workshops and classes for adults this spring.  All levels are welcome.

Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep will co-star in the Steven Spielberg-helmed drama THE POST, which centers on the Washington Post's 1971's publication of the Pentagon Papers.

Houses on the Moon Theater Company will present two world premiere productions in repertory developed through company workshops: The Assignment, a new original play by Camilo Almonacid, directed by Emily Joy Weiner, is a co-production with Rhymes Over Beats (Patrick Blake, Artistic Director; Cate Cammarata, Associate Artistic Director), and will be performed in repertory with gUN COUNTRY, curated by Jeffery Solomon and Emily Joy Weiner, written, developed and performed by Houses On The Moon company members and directed by Jenna Worsham.

'55 years, wow, where have they gone as we're still going strong', says Paddy Moloney, leader of the six-time Grammy Award winners, The Chieftains. The Chieftains have been highly recognized for reinventing traditional Irish music on a contemporary and International scale. The Chieftains were formed in Ireland in 1962 by Paddy Moloney, one of the top traditional folk musicians in Ireland and around the world. Their ability to transcend musical boundaries to blend tradition with modern music has notably hailed them as one of the most renowned and revered musical groups to this day. Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the continuation of the fourth season of Chicago's hit "lost" musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits Little Me, music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and book by Neil Simon based on the novel by Patrick Dennis, with direction by Porchlight Artistic Director Michael Weber, musical direction by Linda Madonia, choreography by Craig Miller with special guest choreography by veteran Bob Fosse dancer Jane Lanier and starring Jeff Award-winner Matt Crowle. Porchlight Revisits Little Me is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, Feb. 28 through Thursday, March 2 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's The Scottsboro Boys (previews begin Friday, Feb. 3) at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets for Little Me are $35.
