BWW Review: ULYSSES Reincarnates at the Abbey Theatre

On Thursday, June 16th, 1904 a young man and his new belle spent their first day together wandering the streets of Dublin. The experience had such a profound impact on him that over the following 2 decades he commemorated the milestone by writing a fictional account about the lives of a group of Dubliners on that eventful day. The young man was James Joyce, that day is now universally known as Bloomsday, and his immortal novel, is Ulysses.

Two New Wondrous Weeks Of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY Go On Sale This Friday

Due to huge demand, new tickets to the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will go on sale on Friday 22 June at 4pm. Roald Dahl's treasured tale will be playing at Sydney's Capitol Theatre from 8 January 2019, produced by John Frost, Craig Donnell, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions.

Theatre By The Sea Announces 2018 Children's Festival

 In celebration of 85 Years of Theatre By The Sea (TBTS), owner and producer Bill Hanney is proud to announce the 2018 summer schedule for Theatre By The Sea's 2018 Children's Festival. Performances will be held on select Fridays in July and August.

World Premiere Of Lee Kalcheim's COMING BACK LIKE A SONG! Begins June 28

Berkshire Theatre Group presents Emmy Award-winner Lee Kalcheim's (All in the Family) World Premiere, Coming Back Like a Song!, a play about Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen and Jimmy Van Heusen. Directed by Tony Award-nominated Gregg Edelman (City of Angels, Into The Woods; BTG: Arsenic and Old Lace, Constellations), Coming Back Like a Song! features Tony Award-nominated David Garrison (A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine) as Irving Berlin, Philip Hoffman (Cabaret, Falsettos) as Harold Arlen and David Rasche (Sledge Hammer!) as Jimmy Van Heusen. Performances begin Thursday, June 28, 2018 and run through Saturday, July 21, 2018 at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage (83 East Main Street) in Stockbridge, MA. 

Renee Taylor to Appear in MY LIFE ON A DIET Off-Broadway This Summer

Producer Julian Schlossberg announces that Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning writer and actress Renee Taylor - known to millions for her role as Fran Fine's food-obsessed mother, Sylvia, on 'The Nanny' - will return to the New York stage this summer in MY LIFE ON A DIET, an autobiographical comedy written by Ms. Taylor and her late husband Joseph Bologna. Originally directed by Mr. Bologna, MY LIFE ON A DIET will have its New York premiere Off-Broadway at Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46 Street, between Ninth & Tenth Aves) beginning Thursday, July 12, 2018.

Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series Of Films And Concerts Includes Three New Components

McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), presents the 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series. Programming runs July 12-Aug.10 and includes a Thursday evening Family Movie Series, the Thursday evening WDCB Live Jazz Concert Series and a Friday evening Pop Music Series. One of the highlights of the Friday evening series promises to be the July 20 New Philharmonic pops concert, which will be broadcast on Facebook Live for the second year in a row. New for this season: To help insure everyone's safety in light of the growing popularity of the series, seating for films and evening concerts will begin at 6 p.m. No admittance will be allowed prior to 6 p.m. for sound check and security reasons.  Admission to Lakeside Pavilion Summer Series events and parking is always free.

Theatre In The Park Opens 49th Summer Season With Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID

A dancing lobster, an evil octopus, a strict father and a delightful array of singing sea creatures. All that and more makes Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID an audience favorite - and it will open the 2018 summer outdoor season for Theatre in the Park (TTIP). Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, a premiere at TTIP, will have seven performances at the outdoor amphitheater Friday through Sunday, June 8-10 and the following Wednesday through Saturday June 13-16. Showtime for all productions is 8:30 p.m. with gates opening at 7 p.m.

Mel Brooks' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN Concludes West End Residency And Announces UK Tour

Mel Brooks' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN - the critically acclaimed musical based on the Oscar-nominated smash hit movie, will end its year- long residency at the Garrick Theatre on 25 August before embarking on a major UK National Tour from September 2019. An Original West End Cast Recording of the production is also set for release in July this year.

Willy Wonka Is On His Way To Australia

Tickets to the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will go on sale on Friday 4 May at 4pm, with pre-sales beginning today. Fans can purchase tickets for performances from 8 January to 3 February 2019.

Henderson Arts Commission to Host Interactive Showing of WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

The City of Henderson and Chester County, in association with the Henderson Arts Commission, will host an outdoor showing of the classic 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' on the Chester County Courthouse Lawn Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. Area businesses also sponsoring the event include: Teague-Noles 45 Auto Mart, Jones Contractors, Inc., Arvin Sango, E&T Contracting, FirstBank, Freed-Hardeman University and Bramblett Group.

Bickford Film Series Salutes 50th Anniversary of THE PRODUCERS

The Bickford Theatre celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest comedies to ever hit the big screen, The Producers, written and directed by the legendary Mel Brooks and staring Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, Dick Shawn, and Kenneth Mars. The film won an Academy Award in 1968 for Best Original Screenplay.
