It's highly traditional that children follow in their ancestors' footsteps, but what if your grandfather was a mad scientist who stumbled upon the secret of bringing the dead back to life? Do you join the "family business" or do you stick to your life as the dean of anatomy at a prestigious New York university? Such is Frederick Frankenstein ("… it's pronounced FRONK-EN- STEEN…) in Young Frankenstein: The Musical, written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meeker, based on the screenplay by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder. Young Frankenstein: The Musical opens at Newnan Theatre Company on October 18, and runs through October 28.

Great theater requires a willing suspension of disbelief. 'The Producers' by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan requires a willing embrace of 1940's Catskill schlock and shtick. That said, MTH's 'The Producers' is so much inspired silliness, so well performed, and so meticulously put together, it is tough to stop giggling and smirking and groaning at the awful, hysterical, politically in-correct, funny, one-liners. The Saturday night, Crown Center audience for 'The Producers' thoroughly embarrassed itself and was delighted to do so.

In The Spotlight has been run in Stratford, Connecticut for over 25 years. It has been a staple for students between 7th and 12th grade who wish to participate in musical theatre. In 2016, the Mighty Quinn Foundation was asked by the town to take over the program. For the past three summers, In The Spotlight has flourished as a theatrically engaging and educational program for middle school and high school students. Those involved not only gain experience on stage as actors, but also work to build connections with their other cast members.
