Il Volo will play the State Theatre tonight, Monday, October 15 at 8 p.m.

Showtime is 8 PM. Tickets at $90/$75 will go on sale to State Theatre Members Wednesday, September 5 at 10 AM, to the public September 12. During Members Only sales, there will be a 6 ticket limit per Member per performance. The State Theatre appearance is sponsored by Alvin H. Butz, Inc.

They will be honoring Dito Montiel, an accomplished author, screenwriter, director and musician. 30 years ago today, Dreamgirls premiered on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre. The production was directed by Michael Bennett, produced by Bennett, Bob Avian, Geffen Records, and The Shubert Organization, and choreographed by Bennett and Michael Peters. It starred Sheryl Lee Ralph as Deena Jones, Jennifer Holliday as Effie White, Loretta Devine as Lorrell Robinson, Ben Harney as Curtis Taylor, Jr., Cleavant Derricks as James 'Thunder' Early, and Obba Babatundé as C. C. White. Dreamgirls proved to be a star-making vehicle for several of its performers, particularly Holliday, whose performance as Effie received significant praise.

IL Volo will release a Christmas EP on November 21, in a repackaged version of the IL Volo album internationally, and as a digital EP in the U.S. Recorded in July with producers Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis, the EP will feature the group's renditions of holiday classics 'Silent Night,' 'Panis Angelicus,' 'The Christmas Song' with 'American Idol' contestant Pia Toscano, and a medley of 'Jingle Bell Rock,' 'Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow' and 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.'
