The Atlanta Opera, one of the nation's finest regional opera companies enriching lives through the power of opera, concludes its 2012-2013 season with a production of Gioachino Rossini's The Italian Girl in Algiers. This will be the first time The Atlanta Opera has produced this opera, and it will be presented tonight, April 27, and April 30, May 3 and 5 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
Hagley Museum and Library welcomes Dr. Adam Rome, University of Delaware, on April 25, to speak about the origins and ramifications of the first Earth Day. His lecture is based on his just-released book, The Genius of Earth Day: How a 1970 Teach-In Unexpectedly Made the First Green Generation. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
