Court Theatre Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Stephen J. Albert present James Joyce's "The Dead," with book by Richard Nelson, music by Shaun Davey, lyrics conceived and adapted by Richard Nelson and Shaun Davey, and directed by Charles Newell with musical direction by Doug Peck. "The Dead" is running through December 9, 2012 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. BroadwayWorld has a first look at highlights from the show below.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that it will present 15 films in their original 70mm glory, featuring a mix of beloved classics and rarely screened gems, all at the Walter Reade Theater - one of the last remaining cinemas in the country equipped to screen 70mm prints.

The Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour 55th Anniversary Celebration makes its way to Segerstrom Center for the Arts on January 13 in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. The all- star ensemble will perform classic jazz and original compositions by critically acclaimed, Grammy Award-winning artists: bassist and musical director Christian McBride, vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater, saxophonist Chris Potter, trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, pianist Benny Green and drummer Lewis Nash.

Chance Theater presents two shows for your Holiday entertainment, LITTLE WOMEN: The Broadway Musical with book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, directed by Casey Long, music direction by Bill Strongin and choreography by Jessie McLean; and the ninth anniversary production of THE EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues, written by Jeff Goode and directed by Oanh Nguyen. LITTLE WOMEN will open tonight, November 17 at 8pm and continue through Sunday, December 23.

Epic Megalopolis Productions (New York/Los Angeles) will produce a concert reading of Swedish pop band Brainpool's new rock opera JUNK on November 17th and 19th at the National Opera Center in New York City. JUNK will be the first rock opera presented in the new recital hall opened by Opera America earlier this year, a venue dedicated to supporting the creation, presentation, and enjoyment of opera. Broadway at Birdland today announced the continuation of the partnership with multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn with two holiday-themed "Frank & Friends" concerts. These evenings will celebrate the holiday songs and favorite performers from the composer's wide range of work in popular, theatrical and classical music. All profits will go to The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in the performing arts and entertainment.

Jennifer Gasoi's CD launch concert last month at the Rialto Theatre for her highly-anticipated second children and family music CD, Throw a Penny in the Wishing Well, was an outstanding success. Joining Jennifer were gifted musicians Andy Dacoulis (guitar), Richard Irwin (drums), John Sadowy (piano), Gilbert Joanis (bass), Jonathan Moorman (fiddle), Pat Vetter (saxophone), Ron DiLauro (trumpet) and Pierre Messier (accordion). This dynamic, celebratory concert was a family-outing highlight enjoyed by over 300 smiling, singing and dancing children, parents, friends and grandparents.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ian McKellen is set to star in a new ITV series to be titled VICIOUS along side Derek Jacobi. The sitcom will be co-written by executive producer Gary Janetti (Will & Grace) and British playwright Mark Ravenhill.
