Photo Flash: Promo Shots for Town Hall Arts Center's DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, Begin. 9/13

The first production in Town Hall Arts Center's 2013-2014 Season will be Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek. Based on the film "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" written by Dale Launer and Stanley Shapiro and Paul Henning. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is directed and choreographed by Nick Sugar, Henry Award winning director of Town Hall's 2012 production of The Who's Tommy and 2010 Henry Award winning production of RENT. Musical direction is by Donna Kolpan Debreceni, Henry Award Winner, The Who's Tommy.

Hailed as one of the greatest musicals of all time, My Fair Lady (now through October 6) is the perfect grand finale to the STAGES ST. LOUIS record-breaking 27th season. Blue Note Jazz Club, the iconic Greenwich Village jazz and blues venue that offers live musical performances every night of the week, is proud to announce an impressive roster of acts this September. Each performer is scheduled for two shows per night, 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. Doors open at 6:00 pm and reservations are strongly suggested. Tickets are $30 at the bar, $45 for table reservations.

Finborough Theatre to Debut Anders Lustgarten's BLACK JESUS, Oct 1-26

In a production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, Anders Lustgarten's Black Jesus receives its world premiere at the Finborough Theatre, playing for a four week season from Tuesday, 1 October 2013 (Press Night: Thursday, 3 October 2013 at 7.30pm). A sold-out workshop production of Black Jesus at the Harare International Festival of Arts, Zimbabwe, was described by the Guardian as 'a highlight of the festival'.

Miles Davis' Original Mono Recordings to Be Issued for First Time, 11/12

Nominations Now Open for Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is seeking nominations for the 2014 Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards - a series of annual grants that recognize inspiring teachers in any field of education across the United States and has announced that for the first time they are also accepting nominations for a new posthumous award to honor teachers no longer alive. Now in their fourth year, the awards were created in honor of Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday. The program was initiated and funded through the generous support of arts philanthropists and friends of Mr. Sondheim, Freddie and Myrna Gershon.
