Warren Beatty will receive the American Film Institute's (AFI) 36th Life Achievement Award in a special ceremony airing on Wednesday, June 25 at 9/8C on USA Network. In addition, there will be special tributes from Gene Hackman, Goldie Hawn, Harvey Keitel, George McGovern, Quentin Tarantino and others. As the first award in the film community to acknowledge career achievement, the honor has been bestowed upon many of the greatest film artists in history such as Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Barbra Streisand, Harrison Ford, Dustin Hoffman, Sean Connery, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, Elizabeth Taylor, Sidney Poitier, George Lucas, Gregory Peck, Barbara Stanwyck, Billy Wilder, Fred Astaire, James Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, Bette Davis, Orson Welles, James Cagney and John Ford.

The 2008 Fred & Adele Astaire Awards recognizing excellence in dance on both stage and film have announced that nine time Tony Award & two time Astaire Award winner Tommy Tune will receive the 2008 Fred & Adele Astaire Lifetime Achievement at the awards gala slate for June 2, 2008

In a feature with lyricists Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman, the LA Times reports the duo is in talks of bringing the movie-musical, Yentl, to Broadway.

After a hiatus of 3 years, The Astaire Awards will once again recognize excellence in dance on both stage and film.

Scott Bakula, known for his performances in Romance/Romance, and TV's 'Quantum Leap' is tapped to play the lead, Tony Hunter, in Dancing in the Dark, a new musical based on the film The Band Wagon. The Band Wagon, (1953) is a musical comedy film, released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer which tells the story of an aging musical star who wants to star in a Broadway play that will restart his career. But the play's director wants to make it a pretentious retelling of Faust, and brings in a prima ballerina who clashes with the show's star. It stars Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse, Oscar Levant, Nanette Fabray and Jack Buchanan.

Feinstein's at Loews Regency will open their 2008 season with return of Hollywood legend Tony Martin from January 29 to February 2. Betty Buckley, who returns to the club for the fourth time, will perform a three-week engagement from February 5 - 23.

Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue their Fall 2007 season with the debut of critically-acclaimed performer Erin McKeown. She was recently called 'one of the freshest singer-songwriters of her generation' by The Wall Street Journal. McKeown and her Little Big Band will perform songs from the CD Sing You Sinners for two shows only, Sunday, November 25 and Monday, November 26.

Feinstein's at Lowe's Regency will continue their Fall 2007 season with Hollywood legend Tony Martin for two shows only, Sunday, October 21 and Monday, October 22. Both shows are at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

The Marx Brothers, Mae West, Sophie Tucker, Bert Williams, Florence Mills, Eva Tanguay and more are headed your way when Voices of the Town - A Vaudeville Salute! invades the South Street Seaport. The show, which is geared for all ages, will be at Melville Gallery (213 Water Street just above Fulton) on October 26 at 7PM.
