Singer-songwriter/guitarist Brooke Annibale will release her third full-length album Hold To The Light on June 8th. The new record marks Annibale's return following her 2015 critically acclaimed album The Simple Fear and features several major departures in terms of both songwriting and production. Annibale sheds a few layers of her folk-acoustic skin and introduces a new indie-pop direction offering a fusion of textured electronic and traditional instrumentation centered around Brooke's stunning voice and keen, soulful lyricism. On May 6, Mixed Blood Theatre will host the world premiere of playwright Beck Lee's Subprime, a new dark comedy with Minneapolis roots that was workshopped in New York. Lee's play, about two couples from Minneapolis's Linden Hills neighborhood who travel to New York on a bargain vacation none of them can afford, begins Friday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m., with an opening on Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m. Produced by Media Blitz Entertainment, the show's four-week engagement closes Sunday, May 27 at 3 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at www.subprimetheplay.com .

Lou Volpe, the retired theatre education pioneer was recently inducted into the prestigious Bucks County Playhouse Hall of Fame, following such honorees as Angela Lansbury, Oscar Hammerstein and Shirley Jones. A formal ceremony was held on April 14 at the historic playhouse. Volpe, whose career is the inspiration behind "Rise," the new TV series on NBC, was heralded for his life's work as a high school drama teacher at Harry S. Truman High School in Levittown, PA. During his tenure there, he transformed this Bucks County community with the magic of theater.

As the build up to this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe gathers pace, today Underbelly added an eye-watering 96 dazzling shows to what will be the most ambitious programme in the company's 19 year Fringe history.
