Jane Alexander to Lead Signature Theatre's LADY FROM DUBUQUE

Signature Theatre Company (Founding Artistic Director James Houghton; Executive Director Erika Mallin), announced a change to the theatre's Legacy Program for the inaugural season at the Company's new home, Signature Center: the theatre will produce Albee's 1977 play, The Lady from Dubuque, in a new production featuring Tony Award winner Jane Alexander and directed by David Esbjornson. The world premiere of Edward Albee's Laying an Egg will be produced in a future season.

Brad Garrett to Lead Sitcom Intensive Class at Edgemar Center for the Arts, 11/14-15

Actor/comedian Brad Garrett will teach a two-day Sitcom Intensive at The Acting Studio at Edgemar Center for the Arts on Monday, November 14th and Tuesday, November 15th. Students will be led through all aspects of comedy and learn what it takes to develop great comedic instincts while exploring topics such as cold reading, auditioning technique, character development, script breakdown and analysis.

Guggenheim Museum Presents Intervals: Nicola López, 10/11-15

As part of Intervals, an ongoing series, the Guggenheim Museum presents Brooklyn-based artist Nicola López with a site-specific sculptural collage environment in the rotunda, titled Landscape X: Under Construction, on view October 11-25, 2011. Conceived to reflect the spirit of today's most innovative practices, Intervals invites a diverse range of artists to create new work for the interstitial spaces of the museum, in individual galleries, or beyond the physical confines of the building. This exhibition marks López's first solo institutional presentation in New York. Intervals: Nicola López is organized by Helen Hsu, Assistant Curator, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

Signature Theatre will open Signature Center, its new, permanent home designed by Frank Gehry, in February 2012. Spanning an entire city block at 42nd Street between Dyer and 10th Avenue, Signature Center is the largest non-profit performing arts center to be built in New York since Lincoln Center opened more than 50 years ago. Featuring three intimate theatres, a Studio Theatre, rehearsal studio, and a public café and bookstore, the Center will be both a theatre community hub and a neighborhood destination, and has been designed to foster interaction among playwrights, collaborators, and the public. The $66 million project is being funded through a public-private partnership and will be staffed by more than 400 people annually.

In the Works Theater Lab Series Begins on Nov. 17 in Millennium Park

Returning for a third season to Millennium Park is the theater lab series, In the Works, where audiences have a chance to sit on the stage of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in a climate controlled environment and experience works in development by local theater artists. The 2011-2012 season, supported by a grant from The Boeing Company, kicks off with a concert reading of Lifeline Theatre's world premiere adaptation of Hunger on November 17-19, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

'Maurizio Cattelan: All' Opens 11/4 at the Guggenheim

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum presents Maurizio Cattelan: All, the first retrospective of the internationally acclaimed artist's work, from November 4, 2011, to January 22, 2012. Hailed simultaneously as a provocateur, prankster, and tragic poet of our times, Maurizio Cattelan (b. 1960) has created some of the most unforgettable images in recent contemporary art. His source materials range widely, from popular culture, history, and organized religion to a meditation on the self that is at once humorous and profound.
