The Center for Puppetry Arts continues to make progress on its highly anticipated expansion and renovation project. As part of the museum's new permanent exhibit, Worlds of Puppetry, the Center is releasing further details on the Jim Henson Collection gallery, which will house the world's most comprehensive exhibit of Jim Henson's puppets, props, scenic elements and other items. The interactive gallery will include more than 75 Henson characters and artifacts at one time, offering a look into Henson's work with a reproduction of his working office, a mock television studio, a homage to Sesame Street and more!

Legendary stand-up comedian and long time Tonight Show favorite, David Brenner has passed away at the age of 78 on Saturday, March 15th after a battle with cancer. According to the comic's official web site Brenner died peacefully at his home in New York City surrounded by his family at his side. In Brenner's final request he asked that one hundred dollars in small bills be placed in his left sock, 'just in case tipping is recommended where I'm going.' Craig Shemin, President of The Jim Henson Legacy and author of the lavishly illustrated and meticulously researched new Muppets Character Encyclopedia (2014, DK Publishing), will present a program featuring memorable moments from the biggest Muppet stars, as well as rare highlights of some lesser known characters featured in his book. The event, on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 p.m., will include video clips and a Muppet trivia contest with prizes, followed by a book signing.
