BWW Review: NEW YORK THEATRE BALLET Presents a Classical CINDERELLA Filled With Imagination And Wonder

At the Florence Gould Hall, just a two avenues away from The Plaza, my April 17, 2016 morning began. Parents, family, friends, and above all, children were ready to see New York Theatre Ballet's (NYTB) version of Cinderella at 11 AM. Many little girls were dressed to impress as the fairy tale character, while the boys were looking good in their Sunday best. For them, this would be animation come to life.

Mabou Mines and Trick Saddle Stage IMAGINING THE IMAGINARY INVALID at La MaMa Tonight

A classic Mabou Mines feat is to take a theatrical classic, reimagine it from top to bottom, then turn it inside out; the result is a production so spanking new that the original gleams with fresh and unexpected relevance. The tradition continues in a collaboration with Trick Saddle and the 45-year old company. The two companies combine forces in the world premiere of 'Imagining the Imaginary Invalid,' inspired by 'The Imaginary Invalid,' Moliere's piercing satiric take on the pretension, gullibility and vulnerability of we poor mortals. Presented by La MaMa, a production of Mabou Mines and Trick Saddle, the play runs January 21-February 7 at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre.

French Embassy & FIAF to Host TILT KIDS FESTIVAL in Spring 2016

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) today announced programming for the inaugural Tilt Kids Festival. The new cultural festival for families will feature multidisciplinary international work paired with commissions from New York artists, including five premieres. Tilt Kids Festival runs from March 4 through April 3. Tickets will go on sale December 23 at www.tiltkidsfestival.org.

Cast Announced for 2016 PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now Festival This January

Beth Morrison Projects (BMP) and HERE are pleased to announce full casting for the fourth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, running January 6-17, 2016, in New York City. Full Cast Announced for Roundabout's THERESE RAQUIN, Starring Keira Knightley

BroadwayWorld has confirmed additional casting for the Broadway adaptation of Therese Raquin starring Academy and Golden Globe nominee Keira Knightley (Therese) making her Broadway debut alongside Tony award winner Gabriel Ebert (Camille), Matt Ryan (Laurent) and two-time Tony award winner Judith Light (Madame Raquin). This adaptation of Therese Raquin is written by Helen Edmundson, based upon the novel by Emile Zola, directed by Evan Cabnet.

ERC Returns to the Berkshires with VAN GOGH'S EAR Tonight

New York City's Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to the Berkshires for the third consecutive summer with the regional premiere of the theatrical concert Van Gogh's Ear. In partnership with the American Institute for Economic Research and the Clark Art Institute, the 10-day, 12-performance series of Van Gogh's Ear complements Clark's art exhibition Van Gogh and Nature and features a special pre-performance discussion August 25th led by the Clark's curator at large, Richard Kendall.
