Theatre 167 to Premiere PIRIRA at The Chain, 10/17-11/10

THEATRE 167 has announced the world premiere production of J. Stephen Brantley's PIRIRA, directed by Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith (The Jackson Heights Trilogy). PIRIRA will play a limited engagement at The Chain (21-28 45th Road, Long Island City, NY 11101). Performances begin Thursday, October 17 and continue through Sunday, November 10. Opening Night is Friday, October 18 (8 p.m.).

Complete JACKSON HEIGHTS TRILOGY Debuts in NYC, 2/8

Theatre 167 will present the Manhattan Premiere of THE JACKSON HEIGHTS TRILOGY, a rotating repertory of three plays about the Queens, New York neighborhood famous for being the world's most diverse community. Created by 18 playwrights and starring a company of 37 actors playing 93 multicultural roles, the plays were conceived and will be directed by Ari Laura Kreith. The trilogy will inaugurate the newly renovated 777 Theatre, located at 777 8th Avenue at 47th Street beginning February 8th. While each of the plays has been presented individually in Queens to critical acclaim, this is the first time any of these plays will be seen in Manhattan and the first time they are being presented together in repertory, where audiences can see them individually or all in one day.

New York Neo-Futurists Present TOO MUCH PRIDE MAKES THE BABY GO GAY, 6/21-23

In celebration of the LGBTQ community and its advocates, the NEW YORK NEO-FUTURISTS will perform a special, one-weekend-only version of their ongoing, award-winning show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind featuring 30 short plays in 60 minutes. This year's performance will feature 30 original LGBTQ-themed plays, including 15 world-premiers and 15 fan favorites from years past.

Apple Core Theater Co Presents By The Dawn's Early Light, Begins 8/11

As the tenth anniversary of September 11th approaches, Apple Core Theater Company presents By The Dawn's Early Light, two new one-acts by Mel Nieves illustrating the impact of that fateful day on three Latino families in New York City. Directed by Walter J. Hoffman, performances will begin on August 11th at the Studio Theatre on Theatre Row, located at 410 West 42nd Street.
