International Dance Festival Birmingham 2016 Returning in May

Produced by DanceXchange, in partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome, the award-winning International Dance Festival Birmingham 2016 (IDFB) returns for the fifth time to bring the city alive with dancers from across the globe over three spectacular weeks from 1-22 May 2016.

ALADDIN Concludes Record-Breaking Run at Birmingham Hippodrome

Birmingham Hippodrome's smash-hit pantomime Aladdin closes on 31 January following a spectacular six week run of 74 performances. With over 118,000 admissions, Aladdin becomes the theatre's best-selling pantomime in 14 years.

Paul Kerryson to Direct OLIVER! at the Curve fromToday

Curve theatre, Leicester has announced its Christmas musical for 2015 will be a new production of Lionel Bart's masterpiece Oliver!. Opening on 2 December 2015, with previews from 27 November, the production also sees Paul Kerryson return as director.

INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL BIRMINGHAM 2016 Launches at House of Lords

At a special reception at the House of Lords today 17 November 2015, kindly hosted by the Bishop of Birmingham The Right Reverend David Urquhart (in his capacity as a Trustee of Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Trust), DanceXchange and Birmingham Hippodrome officially launched International Dance Festival Birmingham 2016.

BBC Documentary Series ON STAGE to Feature the Curve Tonight

Curve takes centre stage this evening in a major new BBC documentary series. The half hour programme, which airs tonight 9th November at 7.30pm on BBC One East Midlands, will run as part of BBC's ON STAGE - a special season of programmes that celebrates British theatre and particularly focuses on the success of some of the UK's key regional theatres.

Chris Stafford Named New Chief Executive of Curve

Chris Stafford has been appointed the new Chief Executive of Curve Leicester following Fiona Allan's departure to lead Birmingham Hippodrome this autumn. Curve is delighted to have found its next Chief Executive from amongst its Senior Management team, where Stafford has been working as Executive Producer for the past two years.

Birmingham Hippodrome Welcomes New Chief Executive

Birmingham Hippodrome has confirmed that FIONA ALLAN will become its new Chief Executive in the autumn. Current CEO Stuart Griffiths OBE moves to Ambassador Theatre Group in July, as announced in January.

ADRIAN MOLE Musical To Premiere At Curve, March 2015

With book and lyrics by Jake Brunger and music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary, this new musical of Sue Townsend's best seller will open on 17 March 2015, with previews from 7 March, and runs until 4 April. Tickets are on public sale on Thursday 10 July.

Nikolai Foster Appointed Artistic Director At The Curve!

Curve today announces the appointment of Nikolai Foster as the company's new Artistic Director. Foster takes up the position in January 2015, succeeding Paul Kerryson who steps down as Artistic Director at the end of this year, after 22 years in post.

Kerryson To Leave Curve In Dec 2014

With Curve currently celebrating its first 5 years, Paul Kerryson announces he will leave as Artistic Director in December 2014. Paul Kerryson said today, 'On the occasion of Curve's 5th birthday I would like to announce that I will be leaving Curve as Artistic Director at the end of next year, December 2014. It has been a privilege to have played a part in the artistic vision and creation of Curve and then the incredibly exciting first five years'

Theatrical Management Association Elects Majority Female Council for 1st Time in Its History

The Theatrical Management Association (TMA), the UK's largest and longest established theatre trade association, announced today that the results of the elections to its ruling council mean that for the first time it will be governed by a female majority. The organisation President Rachel Tackley begins a second three-year term as President. Anna Williams succeeds John Stalker as elected Vice President.
