The Utah Symphony Announces Upcoming Events, Including WATER WORKS

The Utah Symphony, under the direction of conductor Nicholas McGegan, will dive into a lyrical adventure as they pay musical homage to the sea in a concert featuring Handel's colorful "Water Music," one of his most famous symphonic works.

Clarinetist David Krakauer, praised internationally for his astounding ability to play in a myriad of music genres, will give his only New York City concert this fall, featured with the Phoenix Chamber Ensemble (Kathe Jarka, cello; Vassa Shevel, piano; and Inessa Zaretsky, piano) in From Brahms to Klezmer tonight, October 11, 2012 at 7:30pm in the Concert Hall at the Center for Jewish History (15 West 16th Street, NYC), presented by CJH and the Leo Baeck Institute.

Cleveland Orchestra Performs Regional Premiere of Stewart Copeland's GAMELAN D'DRUM Tonight, 10/5

The Cleveland Orchestra performs the Cleveland premiere of Stewart Copeland's Gamelan D'Drum in the first KeyBank Fridays@7 concert of the 2012-13 season at Severance Hall. Joining the Orchestra for this work will be the Dallas-based world percussion ensemble D'Drum, in their Cleveland Orchestra debut. Gamelan D'Drum is scored for symphony orchestra and more than 70 world percussion instruments.

THE PRESIDENT'S OWN - US Marine Band Announces Fall Concert Tour

'The President's Own' United States Marine Band will depart Washington, D.C., Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, for its annual fall concert tour, performing 29 concerts in 31 days throughout the Northeast. The band will perform its first concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, at the Lampeter-Strasburg High School Auditorium in Lampeter, Pa., and will conclude its tour at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Queen Anne's County High School in Centreville, Md.

Conductors Selected for LA Phil's 2012/13 Dudamel Fellowship Program

During the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 2012/13 season, four conductors will participate in the Dudamel Fellowship Program - Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla, Christopher Lees, Dietrich Paredes and Rafael Payare. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, created the Dudamel Fellowship Program in 2009 to provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil's orchestral, education and community programs.

James Feddeck to Lead Cleveland Orchestra in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

James Feddeck, beginning his fourth season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra, leads the ensemble in concerts at Severance Hall that open with Orchestral Excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn. Cleveland Orchestra Principal Bassoon John Clouser is soloist in Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, K.191. After intermission, the program continues with the Love Scene from Hector Berlioz's Romeo and Juliet. The program concludes with Maurice Ravel's Suite No. 2 from Daphnis and Chloe. Performing with the Orchestra in the Ravel suite is the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, prepared by Cleveland Orchestra Director of Choruses Robert Porco and Assistant Director of Choruses Lisa Wong.
