In just under two weeks, the Fulcrum Point New Music Project ensemble, led by Artistic Director Stephen Burns, teams up with West African music and dance experts to present Afro-Beats! in a special encore engagement at the Logan Center for the Arts, University of Chicago, 915 E. 60th Street, Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m.

FELA! has announced its return to Atlanta for six performances only tonight, February 28, 2013 - March 3, 2013 at the Fox Theater, 660 Peachtree Street, NE in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Marking its 15th Anniversary this year, Chicago's Fulcrum Point New Music Project has grown into a critically acclaimed ensemble performing adventurous contemporary classical music programs in a variety of Chicago area venues. In 2013, Fulcrum Point continues this tradition with a wide ranging season including a performance with 100-member orchestra of the John Corigliano film score, 'Altered States,' accompanying the film screening, April 23, in honor of the composer's 75th birthday year, along with presenting a free Concert for Peace in the Pritzker Pavillion at Millennium Park with special guest artists, sarod virtuoso Soumik Datta and the Chicago Children's Choir, September 11.

Serendipity or divine will brought Adesola Osakalumi to the role of Fela. Adesola's father owned a record label and a record store in the Bronx. Fela Kuti, the Nigerian multi-instrumental musician and human rights activist would come into the store. As a child, Adesola met him two times, observing the soul of the man. Now as an adult, Adesola is unfolding Fela's music, beliefs and life story.

FELA! has announced its return to Chicago for six performances only February 19 - 23, 2013 at the Arie Crown Theater (2301 South Lake Shore Drive).

The Shakespeare Theatre Company kick-starts the new year with the return of FELA! After a sold-out run in 2011, the hit Broadway musical returns to STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from January 29 - February 10, 2013. Presented by Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and Ruth and Stephen Hendel, FELA! is directed and choreographed by Tony Award® winner Bill T. Jones. Adesola Osakalumi will star as Kuti alongside a cast combining the toast of Broadway and members of the American and European casts.
