Meet Mark Lazar who Plays Nat in AH, WILDERNESS! at East Lynne Theater Company

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's production of Eugene O'Neill' 'Ah, Wilderness!' continues to delight audiences. This large-cast comedy from 1933 originally starred George M. Cohan in the role of Nat Miller, and Will Rogers played the role on the road the following year.  Nat is the editor of a newspaper in a Connecticut town in 1906, with a devoted wife and several children going through different phases of 'growing pains.' Mark Lazar, who was in ELTC's 'Zorro!,' is portraying this iconic role.  

Sundance Institute and Time Warner Foundation Select 11 Artist Fellows for Grants

Eleven diverse independent artists have been selected to receive support from the 2017 Sundance Institute | Time Warner Foundation Fellowship. These Fellowships and accompanying grants are part of the non-profit Institute's year-round efforts to discover and support independent artists from diverse backgrounds in getting their work made and seen by a wide audience.

Company of Fools to Present Tanya Barfield's BRIGHT HALF LIFE

Following a successful summer run of Aaron Posner's play Life Sucks, Company of Fools' 22nd season of theatre continues this fall with a production of BRIGHT HALF LIFE by playwright Tanya Barfield. Company of Fools' Interim Artistic Director, Ilana Becker, will direct the play, which runs Sept. 27-Oct. 14, 2017, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

Emma Palzere-Rae Chats AH, WILDERNESS! at East Lynne Theater Company

Emma Palzere-Rae is currently playing Essie Miller, a savvy wife and mother in a Connecticut town in 1906. She's a loving wife to Nat, a newspaper owner, an understanding sister to Sid, who has trouble keeping a job, and a concerned mother for her children, ages teenage on up. Emma herself lives in southeastern Connecticut with her husband and two sons.

BWW Interview: Daniel Zaitchik - Kleban award winning creator of DARLING GRENADINE at Goodspeed's Terris Theatre

With an array of musical influences including musical storytellers like Billy Joel and Tom Waits, French classical composers and gospel music, Daniel Zaitchik's sound was bound to be unique. This recent Ed Kleban award winner brings his new musical DARLING GRENADINE to the Goodspeed's Terris Theatre beginning August 18. The musical, which centers on a jingle composer, Harry, his girlfriend, Louise and their life in Manhattan tells its story with a contemporary but classic MGM musical feel. I had the chance to sit down with Daniel and talk about his inspiration for the show, the creative path it has taken (including a recent workshop at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center), and his own creative process.
