2016 National Directors Fellowship Recipients Revealed

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, National New Play Network, The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, and Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation jointly announce the selection of five directors from a nationwide pool of applicants for the National Directors Fellowship:

Gulfshore Playhouse to Present THE WHO AND THE WHAT

Gulfshore Playhouse (www.GulfshorePlayhouse.org) - Southwest Florida's premier professional theatre - is pleased to announce its upcoming production of The Who and the What, a poignant and funny play about identity, religion, and the contradictions that make us who we are from Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Ayad Akhtar, scheduled for April 30 through May 15 at The Norris Center in Naples.

The Drama League Reveals Recipients of 2016 Directors Project Fellowships

The Drama League has announced the 11 stage directors who have been selected as the 2016 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: Noa Egozi, Drew Feldman, Sara Holdren, Candis Jones, Yavor Kostov, Katie Lupica, James Palmer, Jesca Prudencio, Ilana Ransom Toeplitz, Chloe Treat, Shaun Patrick Tubbs. Courtney B. Vance, Joe Mantello & More to Honor SHUFFLE ALONG Director George C. Wolfe at Eugene O'Neill Theater Center

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announces that Courtney B. Vance, Savion Glover, Joe Mantello and David Marshall Grant have joined the Monte Cristo Award program celebration for award-winning stage and film director, playwright, and actor George C. Wolfe. Vance - an O'Neill alumnus who also starred with Tom Hanks in "The Lucky Guy" on Broadway under the direction of Wolfe - will present the Award.

flexCO to Present THE FLYING DOCTOR BY MOLIERE (OVER AND OVER AND OVER)

flexCO, a new theater company dedicated to presenting plays in an entirely new, fresh, and relevant way, launches with the world premiere THE FLYING DOCTOR BY MOLIERE (OVER AND OVER AND OVER), adapted from Moliere by the new theater company flexCO and directed by Michael Doliner. THE FLYING DOCTOR BY MOLIERE (OVER AND OVER AND OVER) begins performances on Wednesday, June 8 for a limited engagement through Saturday, July 2.

Irvington Town Hall Theater to Present Three One-Acts as Part of Stage Door Reading Series

 Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT) closes out a second season of their Stage Door Series, ( where new works are presented in a relaxed setting without sets, costumes, or props) with an afternoon of one-act plays. Three different one-acts by two diverse local playwrights will be read on Sunday, April 24 at 3:00pm. Two plays by Evelyn Mertens: Stray Gloves and Sleep Study and one by Stephanie Okun: Fishing. There will be a Q&A with the playwrights following the reading.

Tony Abatemarco & David Nevell to Star in A WALK IN THE WOODS at ICT

Can personal bonds bridge political chasms? John Henry Davis directs Tony Abatemarco and David Nevell in a brilliant and funny play of ideas by Lee Blessing. A Walk in the Woods opens April 29 at International City Theatre, with two low-priced previews set for April 27 and April 28.

O'Neill Theater Center Accepting Cabaret Fellows Applications for Summer 2016

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is now accepting applications for the Cabaret & Performance Conference Fellows Program through Friday, April 29. The program welcomes talented performers from wide-ranging experience and backgrounds, seeking to train and hone their craft with the finest coaches and music directors in the business.
