Yesterday, May 10, legendary actress Mia Farrow was honored with the 2011 Marian Anderson Award at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Farrow accepted the Award at a Gala Concert produced in partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra, which will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

The Jazz Journalists Association has announced more than 200 finalist nominees in 39 categories of excellence in music creation and music journalism from which winners will be chosen for the JJA's 15th annual JJA Jazz Awards.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents Esperanza Spalding on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., at the Byham Theater. Ms. Spalding's current tour features music from her current release Chamber Music Society.

As we say goodbye to September and hello to October (and all the Halloween trimmings in the stores that go with it!) - we also say hello to a number of shows that have started, or soon will start, their production runs here on the California Central Coast, along with a couple whose runs will soon come to a close.
