Nominees for the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2012 in five film and eight primetime television categories as well as the SAG Awards honors for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center's SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood.

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the out-of-competition Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, January 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

Main Street Theater introduces Houston to this delightful play which has only been produced twice before in the U.S.: once in New York in 1947 and once in New York earlier in 2012. "I am so glad that the Gellhorn and Cowles Estates granted us the rights for this prodcuction," says Rebecca Greene Udden, Main Street Theater's Executive Artistic Director. "This play is just so much fun."

Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company and Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse present the European premiere of
THE KITE RUNNER, adapted by Matthew Spangler and based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini. Director Giles Croft, the production will run in Nottingham Friday 26 April- Saturday 11 May 2013, and in Liverpool from Thursday June 13 - Saturday July 6.

Washington National Opera (WNO) will present the world premieres of three new 20-minute operas today, November 19, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater: The Game of Hearts by composer Douglas Pew and librettist Dara Weinberg, Part of the Act by composer Liam Wade and librettist John Grimmett, and Charon by composer Scott Perkins and librettist Nat Cassidy. The three operas, each highlighting American culture and themes, are the first new works created under the auspices of the American Opera Initiative, WNO's new commissioning program.

Profiles in History, run by Joe Maddalena, has announced that the personal correspondence and manuscripts from the world's greatest authors will be included at their December 18 auction, The Property of a Distinguished American Private Collector. Part I of The Property of a Distinguished American Private Collector will take place in Los Angeles and include 300 of the most important manuscripts of the collection.

By the third act of Martha Gellhorn and Virginia Cowles' 1946 romantic comedy, Love Goes To Press, one of the play's leading characters, a female war correspondent considered tops in her field, begins discussing marriage with the handsome soldier who has captured her heart. When the stuffy British Major speaks romantically of how his love will, naturally, give up her career and go to Yorkshire to stay with his mother until they get married, the 2012 audience members around me, naturally, smirked and guffawed at the absurdity of his antiquated assumptions.
