Signature Theatre announces the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by DC playwright Heather McDonald

On March 4, 2019, Signature Theatre will honor Broadway star Audra McDonald with the company's tenth Stephen Sondheim Award. The Stephen Sondheim Award will be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy and will benefit Signature Theatre's artistic, education, and community programs.

The Kleban Foundation has announced the recipients of the 29th Annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre. The judges declared a tie in the most promising musical theatre lyricist category between Sarah Hammond and Shaina Taub. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Charlie Sohne. The 2019 prizes will be presented on Monday, February 4, 2018, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at ASCAP.

Maplewood thespian turned producer has caught the bug! Late June, Gregory Omar Osborne produced a rousing production of FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE. It was a successful first for Osborne, with ticket sales at 70% over a four show weekend. Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, will present A Charlie Brown Christmas as part of our 2018 Holiday Series! Created by Charles M. Schulz, based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, this stage adaptation by Eric Schaeffer is presented by special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson, and will be directed by Resident Artist James McHale. A Charlie Brown Christmas will preview from December 7th through 9th; regular performances will begin December 13th and continue through December 23rd on the Fyda-Mar Stage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

A Charlie Brown Christmas, based upon the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, is back by popular demand and will be presented on the Wilton Playshop stage from December 7-9, 2018. Based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, this holiday favorite was adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer. Jeffrey Spector will direct and Christine Titus will choreograph this stage adaptation of the classic animated television special in which Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the other Peanuts grapple with the real meaning of Christmas.

The Young Players of Benton proudly present A Charlie Brown Christmas Dec. 14-16 at the historic Royal Theatre, 111 South Main Street, in downtown Benton, AR.  Show times are 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 15, with 2 p.m. matinees on Dec. 15 and 16.  This show is made up of the Young Players Early Stages group which includes students in grades Kindergarten through 6th.  The production is directed by Izzy Hammonds and Matthew Burns.
