Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced that its 2017 Gala Evening will honor the award-winning artistry and ground-breaking careers of mother and daughter Phylicia Rashad and Condola Rashad. This year's gala will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at New York's Espace (635 West 42nd Street).

Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep) announced details on the launch of their five-year capacity building campaign, The Creative Future Fund (CFF).  The campaign supports new works, youth education programs, and audience engagement/development at KCRep and has a goal of $5,000,000.  Additionally, KCRep officials confirm a new matching gift from Bunni and Paul Copaken which will be a dollar for dollar $100,000 match in support of the New Works (OriginKC) aspect of the Creative Future Fund.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre opens its 2017/18 season with BETWEEN THE LINES, a new musical based on the best-selling book by New York Times bestselling authors Jodi Picoult and her daughter Samantha van Leer that features music and lyrics by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, book by Timothy Allen McDonald choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Tony Award-nominated director Jeff Calhoun.

The Old Globe today announced due to popular demand, that William Shakespeare's exhilarating tragedy Hamlet, has now been extended through September 22.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre announced today that FIRE IN DREAMLAND has been added to the 2017-2018 season at The Public Theater in New York City. KCRep also congratulates their Director of New Works, Marissa Wolf who will direct the play for The Public Theater.

In response to pending budget cuts which threaten the very existence of UMKC Theatre, arts leaders, theatre faculty, students and alumni are organizing a public Town Hall to show support for UMKC Theatre and exhibit to the UMKC administration the extensive community support for this program. Kansas City Repertory Theatre is proud to congratulate What Would Crazy Horse Do? Director, Sam Pinkleton on his Tony Award Nomination Best Choreography for his work on this season's Broadway hit musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which led the field with 12 nominations, including Best Musical. Pinkleton previously choreographed KCRep's 2015 acclaimed production of Hair: Retrospection.

Due to popular demand, Shattered Globe Theatre's hit Chicago premiere of Sarah Ruhl's FOR PETER PAN ON HER 70th BIRTHDAY will add one additional week of performances, extending through May 27, 2017 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.  Directed by Jessica Thebus, the imaginative and moving drama was written for Ruhl's mother, Kathleen Ruhl, who stars in the Shattered Globe production.
