Since its founding in 1992, SITI Company has redefined contemporary theater in the United States through an innovative approach to collaboration, cultural exchange, and actor training. With the idea of the ensemble as its bedrock, SITI has served as a creative home for a core group of artists: ten actors, four designers, the director Anne Bogart, and a stunning list of international collaborators. Working together, SITI has not only reimagined what is possible both on and off the stage, but, more broadly, what it means to be a global artist in the new millennium.

This was the news that greeted Alice Eve Cohen after six months of doctor's appointments and concern over her feelings of lethargy and discomfort - and the alarming lump growing in her abdomen. Cohen's funny and frightening story was the basis for an acclaimed 2009 memoir that she has now adapted for the stage. What I Thought I Knew runs at the Kitchen Theatre from June 12 to 30, with preview performances tonight, June 12 and June 13 and 14. Opening Night is June 15, and the closing performance is on June 30.

The play, based on the most current and intimate details of Darrow's private life, is a new and revelatory portrait of the man, not the legend. It presents an end-of-life scenario that will bring a shock of recognition to audiences who have, or may have imagined, their own struggle to face aging and to leave a legacy that may endure. River District Theatre presents the play's first full production tonight, June 5 to 30 at The Drilling Company Theatre, 236 West 78th Street, 3 fl.

Chris Clavelli's Comedy About Parental Loss Premieres June 6

"A Little More Than You Wanted to Spend," Chris Clavelli's heart-warming one-man play about parental loss, receives its New York premiere in a four-week engagement at The Drilling Company, 236 West 78th Street, beginning Thursday June 6 at 8pm. Written and performed by Clavelli, "A Little More Than You Wanted to Spend" is directed by John Hickok. Running through Sunday June 30 at 3pm, this is the inaugural production of New Dog Theatre Company, led by Dean Gray. The opening is set for Monday June 10 at 8pm.
