Coney Island History Project has just announced the debut of the Coney Island History Project's new multilingual brochure representing their organization's cultural activities in 10 languages - Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Urdu. The languages selected are among the top ones spoken by ELLS (English Language Learners) in New York City schools.
Now in its sixth year, NYC Dance Week is an annual festival that provides FREE dance, fitness and wellness classes throughout all five boroughs of New York. Surrounded by Ikea furniture and brand-name appliances, acclaimed Polishactress Danuta Stenka infuses these actions with an increasing sense of loneliness and futility.Request Concert explores the devastating circumstances of life in a world that values objects overpeople. Staged in the round, the audience is invited to walk around the set and observe the production from all angles.

NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FACIP, today joined AT&T's New York President Marissa Shorenstein, Bronx Borough President Rueben Diaz, Jr. and community members to announce a deal to extend free public AT&T Wi-Fi in the Parks for an additional five years. The free Wi-Fi is available, regardless of wireless carrier, to parkgoers at 27 locations in 21 parks across the five boroughs. The collaboration increases the number of free solar mobile charging stations to 34 units at 15 parks and beaches; and four new parks will receive the popular AT&T Street Charge units-Queens Flushing Meadows Park at David Dinkins Circle and Ederle Terrace, Brooklyn's Sunset Park and Prospect Park at the LeFrak Center and Joyce Kilmer Park in the Bronx, where the announcement was made.

This is the first permanent Imagination Playground play space in Brooklyn and only the second to be built worldwide, with the first at Burling Slip in Manhattan. CHEERS NY, a first-of-its-kind craft beverage festival, will kick off on October 3rd and 4th in Brooklyn. The festival is produced by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the State of New York through its Empire State Development Corporation and Taste NY. This represents the first time the State has partnered with a downstate Chamber to host an event of this capacity. The Brooklyn Chamber's host partner will be Industry City, a bastion of small-scale, high-quality manufacturing in Sunset Park.
Civic and community leaders today marked the reopening of the historic Kings Theatre following an extensive $95 million restoration and renovation of the former movie palace and architectural gem. Originally constructed in 1929 and the largest theatre in Brooklyn with more than 3,000 seats, the Kings Theatre will serve as a fixture in the City's cultural landscape, presenting a wide spectrum of programming from local, national and international performing artists. An economic engine for the Flatbush neighborhood and the only major resource for live entertainment in the immediate area, the Theatre will present more than 200 performances annually.
