Theater Resources Unlimited Announces 6 New Companies Coming To The 2018 Audition Event

THE SPRING FLING Opens In One Week!

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the IRT Theater as part of their 3B Development Series in Manhattan's West Village with The Spring Fling: Chemistry, seven new short plays by Mario Correa (Tail! Spin!), Jahna Ferron-Smith (Ensemble Studio Theatre's Youngblood), Jon Kern (Modern Terrorism), Dan McCabe (Christina Martinez), Mara Nelson-Greenberg (Do You Feel Anger?), Erica Saleh (Channel Zero, Wisdom of the Crowd) and Amy Staats (Eddie and Dave).

City Theatre Closes 2017-18 Season with NOMAD MOTEL

City Theatre is thrilled to announce the details of the final production of the 2017-18 season: Nomad Motel by Carla Ching. Originally commissioned as part of South Coast Repertory Theatre's CrossRoads initiative (Marc Masterson, Artistic Director) the play explores a family consumed by California's crippling housing crisis and the life of a "parachute kid," sent to live alone in America while his father remains in Hong Kong. It is directed by LA-based artist Bart DeLorenzo, and will run on the City Theatre Main Stage, May 12-June 3, 2018. Tickets are on sale now. 

James Earl Jones, Amanda Plummer, Dana Delany & More To Star In The Acting Company's Benefit Reading Of Tennessee Williams' THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA

The Acting Company presents a one-night-only benefit reading of The Night of the Iguana, Tennessee Williams' feverishly poetic 1961 drama, at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues), on Monday, June 11. Directed by Michael Wilson, the acclaimed Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner, the performance reunites much of the cast and creative team from last season's critically acclaimed production at the American Repertory Theatre. 

Forward Flux Productions Announces Winners Of THREE NEW AMERICAN PLAYS

Forward Flux Productions, along with commissioning panelists Benjamin Benne, Joshua Castille, Wesley Fruge, Chisa Hutchinson, Pilar O'Connell, Sharath Patel, Patrick Pearson and Emily Penick, is thrilled to announce the three winners of the THREE NEW AMERICAN PLAYS project. This project kicked off on January 2nd, 2018, with an open call to playwrights across North America. Over 250 playwrights submitted pitches inspired by three timely prompts, and now, after a rigorous three month process, the winning playwrights have been selected. They are: Marisa Carr, Sarah Loucks, and Charly Evon Simpson.

Photo Flash: The Old Globe Presents A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS

The Old Globe's 2017-2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for the Southern California debut of A Thousand Splendid Suns, Ursula Rani Sarma's sweeping and deeply moving theatrical production based on the best-selling book by Khaled Hosseini (The Kite Runner). Directed by Carey Perloff and presented in association with American Conservatory Theater, A Thousand Splendid Suns will run May 12 - June 17, 2018 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run May 12-16. Opening night is Thursday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m.

Amoralists Announce 2018-2019 Season - 4 New Intersecting Plays & Graphic Novels

The Amoralists (James Kautz, Artistic Director) announce their 11th season, RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic. RICOCHET will feature four boundary-pushing original, intersecting plays that follow a community as it copes with the aftermath of a mass shooting. Written by The Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB playwrights, Gabriel Jason Dean, Charly Evon Simpson, and James Anthony Tyler, the season will include four complementary original graphic novels created by Danica Novgorodoff.

The Road Theatre Company Extends The World Premiere Of THROUGH THE EYE  OF A NEEDLE

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, are thrilled to announce that the third show of its 2017-2018 season, the critically acclaimed, world premiere of THROUGH THE EYE OF A NEEDLE, written by Jami Brandli and directed by Ann Hearn is EXTENDING through SATURDAY, MAY 26 at the Road Theatre on Lankershim, located in the historic Lankershim Arts Center, 5108 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood.  

CRY IT OUT Comes to Northlight, 5/10

The Las Vegas Philharmonic performs its Season Finale concert on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 7:30 PM in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The program will feature the Philharmonic's American German Cultural Exchange Fellowship recipient, German pianist Danae Dorken performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-Flat Major, Opus 73, "Emperor."  In addition, the orchestra will perform Bernstein's Fancy Free: Three Dance Variations and close its 2017 - 2018 concert season with Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 in B-Flat Major, Opus 100.  Music Director Donato Cabrera will host his pre-concert conversation at 6:30 PM in Reynolds Hall for patrons interested in learning more about the music in the evening program.

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre's World Premiere Production Of DAYBREAK Begins Peformances Tomorrow

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre (Tisa Chang, Founding Artistic Producing Director), continuing its 41st milestone season on themes of social justice and historic amnesia, presents the world premiere of the new play Daybreak by Joyce van Dyke (A Girl's War).  Performances BEGIN TOMORROW, April 21, 2018 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 13, 2018 at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).  Opening Night is Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

Seattle Rep Fully Funded For New Playwright Program

With excitement and gratitude, Seattle Repertory Theatre today announced that it was granted full funding from the prestigious Elizabeth George Foundation for support of commissions for the work of three writers - Joanna Garner, Lily Houghton, and C.A. Johnson. This grant funds developmental work that will begin this fall 2018 through Seattle Rep's The Other Season. The Foundation's incredible support enables artists at the very beginning stage of their careers to have their work recognized and cultivated by institutions across the nation like Seattle Rep in the hope that these theatres become the artistic homes for the work being created.

WILD WOMEN OF PLANET WONGO Invades Chicago

"Wild Women of Planet Wongo" (Wongo) invades Chicago starting June 8 at the Chopin Theater, 1543 W. Division, following a long-term successful New York run. This immersive sci-fi musical comedy spoofs madcap 60s B movies while placing the audience into the middle of the experience. "Wild Women of Planet Wongo" was written by Ben Budick, Steve Mackes and Dave Ogrin and is directed by David Rigano. The first block of tickets are on sale on April 20 for shows June 8 through July 14. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. The show is recommended for those over 16-years-old except for Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. which is strictly 21-years-old and over. SESAME STREET Meets THE EXORCIST In Dark Comedy HAND TO GOD

After the death of his father, meek Jason finds an outlet for his anxiety at the Christian Puppet Ministry, in the devoutly religious, relatively quiet small town of Cypress, Texas. Jason's complicated relationships with the town pastor, the school bully, the girl next door, and-most especially-his mother are thrown into upheaval when Jason's puppet, Tyrone, takes on a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own. A devilishly dark, hysterical romp to hell and back, HAND TO GOD explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us.

Full Cast Announced for MTC's World Premiere of DAN CODY'S YACHT

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce full casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Dan Cody's Yacht, a new play written by Anthony Giardina and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes. Rehearsals for the production begin tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17.
