Matrimony Sign With Columbia Records

Charlotte, NC's Matrimony have signed with Columbia Records and are currently recording their major label debut with producer Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris, The Wallflowers), which is slated for release in 2013. The band's song 'Obey Your Guns' made its national debut in a new Chevy Malibu TV spot that first premiered during the World Series. 'Obey Your Guns' is available for purchase on iTunes, and will appear on Matrimony's forthcoming release.

Already celebrated as a discoverer and interpreter of other artists' songs, 12-time Grammy Award winner Emmylou Harris has, in the last decade, gained admiration as much for her eloquently straightforward songwriting as for her incomparably expressive singing. On Hard Bargain, her third Nonesuch disc, she offers 11 original songs-three of them co-written with Grammy- and Oscar-winning composer Will Jennings-that touch on the autobiographical while reaching for the universal. Harris will tour Australia beginning November 6, 2012 in Perth. Full concert dates are listed below
Tift Merritt Adds New US Tour Dates

Having recently performed at the Americana Music Association Conference in Nashville, Merritt is touring North America in support of the new record. The star-packed lineup for "The 46th Annual CMA Awards" launches with today's announcement that Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson and Little Big Town are the first group of performers confirmed for "Country Music's Biggest Night™." "The 46th Annual CMA Awards," hosted for the fifth year by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

During her recent two-night run at the Metropolitan Room (July 11, 12), Los Angeles-based nightclub singer and actress Robyn Spangler gingerly walked the tribute show tightrope and made it to the other side intact. Her show 'Why I Love Linda Ronstadt' - which earned her a 2011 BroadwayWorld.com honor as L.A.'s 'Best Female Cabaret Artist - was an honest and heartfelt homage to her singing heroine. Her Ronstadt show hit almost all the right tribute notes, with solid arrangements from her Musical Director/Pianist Todd Schroeder (who also provided nifty backup vocals) that were reverential without being replications.

Tift Merritt's highly anticipated Yep Roc Records label debut Traveling Alone is due October 2. The album was recorded in Brooklyn with Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Spoon) and features a guest appearance by Andrew Bird as well as performances by Marc Ribot, Rob Burger (Lucinda Williams, Iron & Wine, Rufus Wainwright), John Convertino (Calexico), Eric Heywood (The Jayhawks, Son Volt, Alejandro Escovedo) and Merritt's longtime collaborator Jay Brown.
