Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces its entire 2011 summer season, featuring 99 performances at the majestic Filene Center amphitheater, eight evenings of opera at The Barns at Wolf Trap, and 70 performances at Wolf Trap's Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.

Two shows will be held in honor of the late Kate McGarrigle at Town Hall on May 12 and 13.

Legendary rocker Neil Young will embark on a solo tour that will kick off on April 15th in Durham, NC, and will include a performance at Detroit's Fox Theatre on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. The tour, which will include two nights at Boston's Wang Center and two shows at the prestigious and intimate Avery Fisher Hall in NYC's Lincoln Center, will cover songs from his current acclaimed album, Le Noise as well as classic tracks performed in both electric and acoustic settings.

It's hard to believe that over 40 years have flown by since Donnie "Mr. Downchild" Walsh and his late brother, Hock formed the renowned group that would be the inspiration behind the blues in Canada and the world famous Blues Brothers.

Brown Bird has a tendency towards the dark side. Pulling from the influences of the blues, outlaw country, roots rock, early American folk, Gypsy and Eastern European music, they offer harmonized voices, haunting lyrics and diverse rhythm and instrumentation, which surges in waves that often swell into high-spirited, foot-stomping madness.
