The REP to Present EM Lewis' HEADS, 1/30-2/16

The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, continues its compelling 2013-2014 season with the Pittsburgh premiere of EM Lewis' heart-wrenching prize-winning drama, Heads.

Jemma Redgrave, Jason Durr and More Cast in DONKEYS' YEARS at the Rose Theatre Kingston, Feb 6

Jemma Redgrave will play 'Lady Driver', Jason Durr will play 'Quine' and Jamie Glover will play 'Headingley' whenMichael Frayn's classic comedy, Donkeys' Years comes to Rose Theatre Kingston in 2014. This sparkling revival, which will open on the 6 February, will be directed by Lisa Spirling, making a return to the Rose following her acclaimed production of Michael Frayn's Here in 2012.

Elliott Joins Cast Of St James Theatre's URINETOWN

Marc Elliot, playing Mr. McQueen, joins the previously announced Richard Fleeshman as Bobby Strong, Jenna Russell as Penelope Pennywise and Jonathan Slinger as Officer Lockstock in the multi Tony Award-winning URINETOWN The Musical, directed by Jamie Lloyd (Macbeth, The Hothouse, The Pride) at the St James Theatre.

16th Street to Debut 2014 Season at WIRE, 12/7

16th Street Theater and North Berwyn Park District debut their Season Seven 2014: How To Be Good in a FREE event on Saturday, December 7 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM at Berwyn's newest music venue WIRE at 6815 Roosevelt Road in Berwyn, Illinois. Enjoy WIRE's cash bar while 16th Street performs excerpts from their 2014 Season Seven featuring four premieres by four female writers: Laura Jacqmin, Andrea Thome, EM Lewis and playwright-in-residence Shayne Kennedy. Associate Artist and scenic designer Kurt Sharp will also be remembered at this event.

Laurence Fox, Jack Huston and More Star in STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, Beg. Tonight

Laurence Fox, Jack Huston, ChristIan McKay, Miranda Raison, Imogen Stubbs and MyAnna Buring will star in Strangers on a Train by Craig Warner, which will be presented at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End by Barbara Broccoli, Colleen Camp, Michael G Wilson, Lucky VIII/Lou Spisto, Frederick Zollo and Michael Rose Limited for Strangers (UK) Limited. The production, directed by Robert Allan Ackerman, will preview from today, 2 November. This gripping thriller is based on Patricia Highsmith's acclaimed novel, which was the inspiration for Alfred Hitchcock's legendary movie.

Premiere Stages to Host Staged Readings of James Christy's AT LIBERTY HALL, 11/8-10

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present free interactive Staged Readings of the 2013-2014 Liberty Live Commission, At Liberty Hall by James Christy, November 8th through 10th in the University Center Little Theatre at Kean University. The story of an unlikely pair of American immigrants, At Liberty Hall follows two high school students who've just moved to New Jersey: Christian Rosario, a funny but unfocused teenager from Queens by way of the Dominican Republic; and Alexander Hamilton, 16, the subject of Christian's 10th grade history project. This time-bending story finds common threads of humor, honor and awkwardness as told through the experiences of a someday-Founding Father and a kid looking for a way out of the projects.

American Lyric Theater Announces $150,000 Grant for Opera Composers and Librettists

Lawrence Edelson, Producing Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater (ALT), announced today that the company has been awarded a $150,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support capacity building and the national expansion of the company's Composer Librettist Development Program (CLDP), the only full-time professional mentorship initiative for emerging operatic writers in the country.

The Ringwald Theatre has announced the 4th installment of its wildly popular Gay Play Series (GPS). Last year's outing was attended by hundreds of people over a two weekend period. This year the program will run three consecutive weekends and will feature a two-week run of the past three winning scripts, a serialized staged reading of a beloved classic, a new one-woman show, a brand new cabaret, and performances of 8 new, one act LGBT plays.
