BWW Review: Benjamin Evett Makes a Big Splash With ALBATROSS at Gloucester Stage Company

Benjamin Evett recreates his 2015 Elliot Norton Award-winning solo performance of The Mariner in ALBATROSS, co-written by Evett and Matthew Spangler. Rick Lombardo is back at the helm as director, and plans have been announced to take the play to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August and Off-Broadway in January.

?Award-winning fringe company Happy Medium Theatre (HMT) is excited to announce its upcoming production of Brendan by Boston favorite playwright Ronan Noone. Directing the production are IRNE Award nominated Brett Marks (Lifers, Argos Productions and HMT) and Elliot Norton Award winning Victor L. Shopov (Bent, Zeitgeist Stage Company). Prince Hamlet returns home to an unrecognizable political landscape, and is compelled by an apparition to avenge his father's death. Paralyzed by the task ahead, he rages against the impossibility of his predicament. Meanwhile the new King is much less ambivalent in plotting Hamlet's death, and Denmark is thrown into turmoil with devastating consequences.

Stoneham Theatre to Conclude Season with World Premiere of New Musical LOBSTER GIRL

Stoneham Theatre closes its 16th Season with Lobster Girl, a World Premiere musical written and directed by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes with music and lyrics by Steven Barkhimer. Choreography is by IRNE and Elliot Norton Award-winner Ilyse Robbins. When Hank invites his girlfriend's 14-year-old daughter, Cora, out for the day on his lobster boat off of Cape Ann, things go swimmingly until his assistant lets it slip that wedding bells will soon chime. That's when the seas start to get a bit choppy. Performances run from June 9 - 26, 2016. Press Opening is Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 3:00pm.
