HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK: Holland Taylor takes a bow, Broadway gets Miscast, PHANTOM gets a new Chrsitine, and so much more!

Samantha Hill takes over the role of Christine Daae in Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera, replacing Sierra Boggess. Hill joins Hugh Panaro in the title role with Kyle Barisich as Raoul, Jim Weitzer (Monsieur Andre), Tim Jerome (Monsieur Firmin), Michele McConnell (Carlotta), Ellen Harvey (Madame Giry), Christian Šebek (Piangi) and Kara Klein (Meg Giry). BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. Tonight, February 14th Broadway Sessions will celebrate Valentines day with performances by real life Broadway couples Jesse Swimm and Ellen Harvey, Clyde Alves and Robyn Hurder, and Nicolas Dromard and Gabrielle Ruiz.

The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., once again makes theater history when it becomes the first Broadway show ever to celebrate its 25th Anniversary tonight, January 26, 2013. Much of the Phantom family will reunite for this special event, and the current cast will also be a big part of the festivities. Ms. Boggess will play a strictly-limited engagement as leading lady Christine Daaé for 6 weeks through Saturday, March 2.

Producers today announced an online sweepstakes to give PHANTOM 'Phans' the chance to be part of the historic night's invitation-only performance. While many of the evening's details are being kept under wraps, the special night will begin with an early 6:30 PM performance at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), the musical's home for its entire run.

The Public Theater's production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS, part of The Public's 50th Anniversary season at the Delacorte opened last week, August 9th to mixed reveiews from critics. Now according to the New York Times, the show is still 'pursuing a possible Broadway transfer.' Producer Joey Parnes is currently working to bring the show to Broadway in late winter or spring of 2013.
