Babes With Blades Theatre Company (BWBTC) launches its 20th Anniversary Season: "Origins" with its 20th world premiere The Invisible Scarlet O'Neil, playing at the Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St., September 2 - October 14. Based on the 1940s comic strip by Russell Stamm, the new play is written by BWBTC Ensemble Member Barbara Lhota, directed by Ensemble Member Leigh Barrett and features violence design by Ensemble Member Libby Beyreis. Preview performances are Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 3 at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. Opening Night is Saturday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. Regular performances are Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview tickets are $10, student and senior tickets are $15, early bird general admission (available online through September 9) are $20 and general admission (after September 9) are $25. Idle Muse Theatre Company announced casting forThe Hound of the Baskervilles, newly adapted by Althos Low and directed by Idle Muse Artistic Director Evan Jackson. First serialized in the Strand Magazine in 1901-1902 - and perhaps the most beloved of Conan Doyle's crime thrillers - Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson trade the foggy streets of London for the country wilds of Dartmoor to shield the life of a young heir whose family is believed cursed by a murderous hellhound.

Idle Muse Theatre Company has announced the appointment of Erin Gallagher as Managing Director. An ensemble member and resident Costume Designer since 2013, Erin replaces founding Idle Muse company member, Lenny Wahlberg as Managing Director. However Wahlberg will assist the transition in an advisory capacity for the remainder of this calendar year. Wahlberg, a founding member of Idle Muse Theatre Company, served as managing director for seven years and directed three productions.

Commedia Beauregard's adaptation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, performed entirely in tlhIngan Hol (the Klingon language originally created for the Star Trek TV series and feature films), will return with a new director, new cast members and move to a new venue for its fifth and final seasonal Chicago production in December 2014.

Babes With Blades Theatre Company (BWBTC), Chicago's all-female stage combat ensemble, will launch a series of special events and deals to coincide with their spring production of "Trash," starting with "War and Piece," a showing of artwork by Victoria Szilagyi. The exhibit will include Szilagyi's painting "Erinyes," the winner of the 2010 Inspiring Sword & Pen Art Competition.
