The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the selection of the individuals who will receive the 2010 Kennedy Center Honors. Recipients to be honored at the 33rd annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and songwriter Merle Haggard; composer and lyricist Jerry Herman; dancer, choreographer and director Bill T. Jones; songwriter and musician Paul McCartney; and producer, television host and actress Oprah Winfrey.
On the surface, taking over the lead role of Usnavi in the National Tour of IN THE HEIGHTS-now performing at the Orange County Performing Arts Center through August 15-seems like a daunting task to tackle, especially after observing first-hand the man who created the role reprising it for six weeks in the tour's celebrated Los Angeles stop. Spike TV will induct quintessential mob classic and iconic movie 'GoodFellas' into the Guy Movie Hall of Fame during the fourth annual 'Guys Choice,' taping Saturday, June 5 at the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA. Film stars Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta will reunite on stage to be honored, celebrating the 1990 cinematic masterpiece. This appearance at 'Guys Choice' marks the first time the Hollywood heavyweights will come together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the six time Academy Award-nominated 'GoodFellas.' The award will be presented by Emmy and Golden Globe winner James Gandolfini. 'Guys Choice' will premieres Sunday, June 20th At 10 PM, ET/PT.
