Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today the release ofChicago Shakespeare Theater: Suiting the Action to the Word, a collection of original essays that furthers the study of William Shakespeare in performance and stagecraft through the exploration of the Theater's first twenty-five years. Respected scholars, artists and theater critics view Shakespeare through the lens of the theater's artistry, bringing together professional observations and scholarly examinations of CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines's productions as well as collaborations with world-renowned directors who have worked at CST, including Michael Bogdanov(The Winter's Tale - 2003); Edward Hall (Rose Rage: Henry VI, Parts 1, 2, and 3 - 2004) and Josie Rourke (The Taming of the Shrew - 2010).

POCKET MERCHANT Announced As 2013 Propeller Production

Pocket Merchant, a 60-minute version of The Merchant of Venice, will be based on Propeller's acclaimed 2008/09 production. Set in a prison called Venice, the environment brings out the more radical tendencies in human nature, and which is fertile ground for the ferocious intolerance that Shakespeare examines in this controversial play.

The Guthrie Announces Casting for Propeller's TWELFTH NIGHT and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW

The Guthrie Theater continues its 2012-13 season with the British company Propeller's all-male, modern and physical productions of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and The Taming of the Shrew, directed by Propeller artistic director Edward Hall. The two plays, performed in repertory (audiences can choose either show, or both on two different nights), come to the Guthrie as part of Propeller's international tour running through August 2013. Twelfth Night and The Taming of the Shrew begin performances at the Guthrie on February 27, and continue through April 6, 2013. CHARIOTS OF FIRE Welcomes Final West End Cast, Closes Feb 2

Tomorrow, Tuesday 13 November 2012, sees the final cast in Edward Hall's critically acclaimed production of Chariots of Fire take to the track at the Gielgud Theatre after its previously announced extension through to 2 February 2013.

CINDERELLA THE MIDNIGHT PRINCESS, THE VORTEX and More Set for Rose Theatre Kingston, Christmas 2012/Spring 2013

The Rose Theatre Kingston has announced its Christmas production and two further new Rose Theatre Productions in 2013. Covering the Christmas period, Cinderella The Midnight Princess, tells the magical classic Cinderella story with humour and the sublime music of Mozart. In-house productions include Noel Coward's The Vortex and Richard Bean's black comedy Smack Family Robinson, directed by the much-loved Richard Wilson. Next year also sees the return of Propeller with The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night, and Northern Broadsides presents the groundbreaking Rutherford & Son, directed by Sir Jonathan Miller.
