The Millay Sisters Head to Gowanus Loft Next Week

Called 'Vincent' all her life, Edna St. Vincent Millay was the mercurial goddess of a fast and fatal Greenwich Village scene in the 1920s. 'She was one of those women,' said Edmund Wilson, 'whose features are not perfect, but who, excited by the blood of the spirit, becomes almost supernaturally beautiful.'

NYFOS Next Festival of New Songs Sets Casts, Programs for February

New York Festival of Song's contemporary song series NYFOS Next -- dubbed 'invaluable' by The New Yorker and The New York Times -- enters its sixth season and continues its new format: a three-concert February mini-festival in the intimate state-of-the-art recital hall at OPERA America's National Opera Center. LOVE ALONE to Open City Theatre's 10th Anniversary Season

Opening City Theatre's 10th anniversary season, the Austin premiere play Love Alone by Deborah Salem Smith pulls no punches as it lays bare the emotions of two families after a routine medical procedure goes tragically wrong. The New York Times calls Love Alone a, "lucid, deeply nuanced and fearless work." The Boston Globe calls it "…first rate…a gleaming gem." And The Providence Journal says Love Alone is 'thought-provoking, well-written, and just darn good theater.' The show runs three weekends October 2 - 18.

Soprano Talya Lieberman and baritone Edward Nelson, joined on piano by former San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Allen Perriello end the 32nd season of the Schwabacher Debut Recitals on Sunday, May 3 at Temple Emanu-El's Martin Meyer Sanctuary. The Merola Opera Program alumni will present an eclectic program showcasing works by Nico Muhly, Francis Poulenc, Henry Purcell, Franz Schubert and Kurt Weill. Also on the program, will be works of popular German lieder as well as poems by noted American female poets set to music by American composers.

Naked Shakespeare Brings POEMS OF PASSION to Yarmouth Tonight

Naked Shakespeare, Acorn Productions' acting company dedicated to presenting the works of the Bard in non-traditional venues without sets, lights, and costumes, presents 'Poems of Passion' a 50-minute show comprising a series of Shakespeare's sonnets and love poems by many other authors spanning the years from Sappho to Carol Ann Duffy. This fully-staged show runs approximately 50 minutes, and touches on all the different aspects of love, including infatuation, courtship, lust, marriage, and separation.

OCPA Studios Presents Artistic Endeavors by Jordan R. Young

The Orange County Playwrights Alliance turns 20 in 2015 and kicks off the celebration of its 20th year with a new play event at Theatre Out in Santa Ana's Artists Village. On February 28 at 2:30pm, the OCPA Studios series presents Jordan R. Young's Artistic Endeavors, directed by Jesse Runde (Alchemy Theatre Company), in cooperation with Theatre Out.
