Frances Black Project presents, Commedia dell'Artichoke, a bi-monthly show created and performed by Carter Gill and Tommy Russell. Performed in classic commedia dell'arte mask, these two Yale Drama trained actors create a world of characters who live and work in a pizza shop in New York City. It's a story about following your dreams, being your own boss and the chaos that must ensue. December 14 and 15 at 9:30pm at Artichoke Basille's Pizza, 114 10th Avenue (at 17th Street). General admission tickets are $30 and include a slice and drink of choice. Reserved seating is $40. Tickets are available online at http://www.francesblackprojects.com/#current-projects. Foxhead Books has recently published a new book by author Daisy Rockwell entitled 'Taste' (ISBN: 978-1940876047), in September, 2014. Rockwell is the author of 'The Little Book of Terror,' a volume of paintings and essays on the Global War on Terror (Foxhead Books, 2012), and her collection of translations of stories by Hindi author Upendranath Ashk, Hats and Doctors, was published in 2013 by Penguin India. Her latest offering, 'Taste,' is her first novel.

Bette Davis On the Edge, a new one-woman show about the screen legend, written and performed by Christine St. John, an American actress, who has spent the last two decades working in London, and directed by renowned Chicago director, teacher and casting agent, Jane Drake Brody, will receive its world premiere at the Mainstreet Theatre in Michigan City, Indiana, beginning on September 12th, and running for four performances through September 20th.

The Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to Lenox, Massachusetts, for the second consecutive summer, with 12 performances of the fully staged theatrical concert, Beethoven Love Elegies. With a script drawn from Beethoven's letters and diaries and accounts by his contemporaries, interwoven with performances of some of his greatest music, this poignant, humorous, and emotionally intense production dramatizes Beethoven's young years in Vienna and his search for the perfect wife. Actor Kire Tosevski as Beethoven heads an outstanding company of five esteemed actors and four musicians (violinist Rachel Lee Priday, cellist Sebastian Bäverstam, pianist Eve Wolf, and baritone Chad Sloane).

Shakespeare & Company's Dennis Krausnick, a founder and also Director of Training, steps into the title role of Julius Caesar for a brief run beginning July 15 through August 2. Nigel Gore, who has been playing Caesar since it opened several weeks ago, takes a short-term leave from the show after this weekend's performance on Sunday July 13-Gore will be back in the role Saturday, August 9. Krausnick was last seen on stage in the Playhouse in 2012's King Lear in the title role. See Krausnick's bio and photo links below.

Shakespeare & Company's Northeast Regional Tour of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Jonathan Croy, returns home to Lenox settling in for special limited engagement at The Mount, Edith Wharton's Home. After playing to tens of thousands of students this winter and spring, the Company's non-union schools tour, the Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare, will perform their unique six-actor, 90-minute version of William Shakespeare's timeless tale of star-crossed lovers outdoors at 2 Plunkett Street-the address where the landmark theatre company was founded in 1978. Now in its 34th year, the Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare has proven to be one of the Education Program's most successful and popular programs, reaching over 25,000 students every year.
