Aladdin's Luck by Janet Stanford, uses audience participation and imaginative staging to tell the familiar story with only three actors. Steven Robman directs the ensemble cast, which also includes Gregory Harrison, James Lancaster and Joel Polis, in the world premiere of The Snake Can by Kathryn Graf (Hermetically Sealed). Cabrillo Music Theatre Welcomes Shirley Jones and Patrick Cassidy in TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY, 2/10

Cabrillo Music Theatre announces the next in a series of fundraising and entertainment events in the recently renovated Founders' Room of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. SHIRLEY JONES & PATRICK CASSIDY: TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY will take place on Sunday, February 10th, at 7:00PM, and reunites the Oscar-winning star of stage, films and television, Shirley Jones, with her son, Broadway and television star Patrick Cassidy. The Founders Room is located in the Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

Review: Sophie B. Hawkins Becomes Janis Joplin in ROOM 105 at Macha Theatre

I am not really sure where to begin with my praise for Sophie B. Hawkins after seeing her commanding performance as Janis Joplin in Gig Gaston's new musical 'Room 105 - The Highs and Lows' which ended its 4-month run tonight at the Macha Theatre in West Hollywood. I will start by saying that Hawkins is not playing Janis Joplin - she IS Janis from the moment she literally crawls onto the stage and belts out her first number.

Roger Bean's The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns, the eagerly awaited sequel to the popular off-Broadway jukebox musical The Marvelous Wonderettes, has a brand new cast album. The show opened July 7th at Laguna Playhouse to sparkling reviews. Wonderettes creator Roger Bean has selected 32 songs for the new show and each one, from beloved classic to hidden treasure, has received the signature Wonderettes touch for the new album.

The MainStreet Theatre Company has announced the cast for the first show of its 2012/2013 season: Pinkalicious the Musical. The musical, based on the best selling book for the younger set, is also written by book authors Elizabeth Kann & Victoria Kann, with Music by John Gregor. The story, about a little girl who eats too many cupcakes and turns pink, has been delighting youngsters since its publication in 2006, and the musical celebrates everything pink while reminding kids that sometimes too much of a good thing is... too much!.
